UPDATED 8/03/2020 – Release date has been postponed by Lionsgate due to changing theatrical landscape amidst COVID-19 pandemic

August 3, 2020 — In researching upcoming films slated to release theatrically in the next month or so, it seems many studios are pulling films or pushing back release dates. In several reports from Deadline, Variety, and Slash Film, the thriller ANTEBELLUM from Lionsgate is being ‘pulled from the calendar’ for the time being.

No word yet on when the Janelle Monae led picture will be released since the theatrical landscape is constantly changing as cases of COVID-19 are continuing to rise in the United States. It’s also possible other big films like WONDER WOMAN 1984 and Christopher Nolan’s TENET (both releasing from Warner Bros.) will have another push back. Both films have had their dates pushed back several times to date.
