Round table interviews with The 100
WonderCon made its temporary home at the LA Convention Center and L.A. Live’s Microsoft Theater this year and, while I know it’s returning to Anaheim next year, I really enjoyed attending a convention so close to me. I digress. I will address the horrible lighting inside the lower level of the Mircrosoft Theater. There were circular lights above our tables that constantly changed colors which is visible on the video.
Attending these conventions are pretty amazing, especially when you get to speak to the cast and creators of some of your favorite shows. Initially, The 100 was my guilty pleasure show but I can’t hide it anymore. I really love The 100. The drama and intrigue has become so intense this season, I’m on pins and needles from one episode to the next.
I got to talk with The 100 cast members including Bob Morley who plays Bellamy Blake, Richard Harmon who plays John Murphy, Christopher Larkin who plays Monty Green, Devon Bostick who plays Jasper Jordan, Eliza Taylor who plays Clarke Griffin, series creator/writer/executive producer Jason Rothenberg, and Lindsey Morgan who plays Raven Reyes.
If you haven’t kept up with The 100 this season, there may be some spoilers in the video.
Despite the numerous times I’ve conducted round table interviews, I always have a touch of nerves when asking questions. Thankfully, each cast member and Rothenberg were absolutely delightful to talk to. I could listen to Morley and Taylor talk all day with their awesome Aussie accents. Larkin is quite funny and he mentioned how he varies from his character Monty in that he isn’t so tech savvy showing us his flip phone…yes, a flip phone. And yes, Larkin and Bostick are also best friends off-screen. There is part of the interview with Larkin that was cut off but he mentions that he’d love to see his character Monty have a love interest. Someone else asked him who he would pick and in the follow up he mentions Monty’s mother. You have to hear the conversation to truly enjoy his answer.
One of the most surprising interviews for me was talking to Harmon. This was my first time speaking with him and he’s very different from the character he plays on the show. I may look at John Murphy through a new pair of eyes now. Rothenberg reveals that he planned from the beginning of season three to have Morley’s character Bellamy stray a bit from his usual path. Bostick talks about his character’s downward spiral but that there is hope for Jasper. After what Jasper witnesses with Morgan’s character Raven in the episode “Terms and Conditions,” he’s not so sure he’s ready to sip from the “City of Light” fountain. And will Lindsey Morgan get to go to “Space Camp?” Fingers crossed!
There is so much more revealed in the video interviews so please check out the full video below with plenty of juicy tidbits for what’s coming up in the rest of season three.
