Round table interviews with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
WonderCon is growing fast and becoming a go-to destination for many television series, both new and returning. During my time at WonderCon 2016, which made its temporary home at the LA Convention Center and L.A. Live’s Microsoft Theater, I got to talk with DC Legends of Tomorrow co-creator, writer, and executive producer Marc Guggenheim, and several key cast members including Franz Drameh who plays Jax/Firestorm, Caity Lotz who plays Sara/White Canary, Brandon Routh who plays Ray/The Atom, and Ciara Renée who plays Kendra/Hawkgirl.
At these conventions, you don’t know how the round table style interviews will go, but I’ve been quite fortunate in my various adventures to sit with great people who also ask great questions. DC Legends of Tomorrow’s press room was no different.
Throughout the various interviews, we get some intriguing tidbits from Guggenheim about upcoming episodes including a western themed episode that Routh says is “a lot of fun.” One of my favorites to talk to was Drameh because he has the best British accent! He’s quite animated and you can tell he’s having a blast on the series. Both Lotz and Renée were lovely and I learned that Lotz actually wanted to be a stunt woman before she caught the acting bug. I asked Renée about a particular scene in episode eight “Night of the Hawk,” in which Renée’s character Kendra is face to face with Casper Crump’s character Savage. She mentions that Crump is a “goof” in person, but when he turns Savage on, he’s “creepy,” so she didn’t have to much acting in those scenes, especially when he touches her face.
Check out the full video below with plenty of juicy tidbits for what’s coming up in the rest of season one.
