New Exclusives for “Knight Rider,” “The Six Million Dollar Man,” and “Battlestar Galactica” to Launch at San Diego Comic-Con with Celebrity Appearances and Autograph Signings
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – July 3, 2012 – NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products announces the launch of new exclusive products with exciting celebrity appearances and events at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC), the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world. Products based on Classic-TV series including “Knight Rider,” which originally aired from 1982 – 1986, “The Six Million Dollar Man,” which aired from 1974 to 1978, and the classic “Battlestar Galactica,” that aired between 1978 – 1979, are scheduled to debut at the show. All are licensed by NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group, and select items will be promoted by celebrities from the series who will sign autographs for fans at the show.“Our partners have outdone themselves this year with new and exciting exclusives for many of our beloved series,” said Christopher Lucero, Director of Global Consumer Products. “I couldn’t be happier to see K.I.T.T., Steve Austin, The Galactica crew and Agent Lattimer make such a tremendous impact at this year’s show, both for myself and for all our fans.”

K.I.T.T., the famous talking car from the classic series “Knight Rider,” will soon be a Hot Wheels® vehicle from Mattel, available to fans everywhere. A very special edition of K.I.T.T. is coming to SDCC in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Knight Rider. This 1:64 scale collector’s edition sits in an acrylic case nestled in distinctive Knight Industries packaging with scanner lights and three different iconic K.I.T.T. phrases ($40). A standard edition vehicle will also be available wherever toys are sold. Mattel has a robust schedule of panels, signings and activities to offer at SDCC, including the life-size K.I.T.T car on display in their booth (#3029).

The first new line of merchandise in years for “The Six Million Dollar Man” comes from Bif Bang Pow! with a lunchbox replica of Oscar Goldman’s briefcase that includes the all-new Dr. Rudy Wells 8-inch EMCE action figure. Richard Anderson, who played Oscar in the series, will be signing autographs on Thursday from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343). The Dr. Rudy Wells figure comes with three heads representing the three actors who portrayed him (Martin Balsam, Martin Brooks, and Alan Oppenheimer). This Three Faces Dr. Rudy Wells with Tin Tote Gift Set – SDCC Exclusive is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces ($35). Also available will be the huge new Bigfoot 9 5/8-Inch EMCE 8-Inch Scale Action Figure that includes a limited edition key-chain featuring character-specific bionic sounds ($20).

Bif Bang Pow! will also have Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch from the classic “Battlestar Galactica” series introduce the all-new Lieutenant Starbuck and Captain Apollo 8-Inch EMCE Action Figures ($20 each, sold separately) for the launch of their new line of classic “Battlestar Galactica” merchandise, which includes Cylons, lunch boxes, glassware, and more. Fans can pick up the limited edition (1,500 pieces) SDCC Exclusive Cylons with Tin Tote Gift Set that includes a Battle Damaged Cylon and a Gold Cylon Commander 8-Inch EMCE Action Figure inside a Cylon-themed tin tote ($45), and all-new Commander Adama and Cylon Centurion 8-Inch EMCE Action Figures ($20 each, sold separately). The “Battlestar Galactica” signing will take place on Friday from 2:00 – 3:30 pm at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343).

Celebrating its fifth year at SDCC, Hallmark will debut a gold-painted Classic “Battlestar Galactica” Cylon Centurion ornament. This variant of last year’s popular ornament is Hallmark’s first Comic-Con exclusive to feature sound, and is a limited edition item with a run of 750 Keepsake Ornaments ($25 each). Hallmark will also have Comic-Con-exclusive Keepsake Ornaments and visits with a Keepsake Ornament artist at their booth (#2913-H).

ANOVOS Productions will debut original, limited edition “Battlestar Galactica” fine art lithos prints from Dave Dorman, one of the world’s foremost genre artists, with his first-ever “Battlestar Galactica” paintings. As he works on the original piece, Dorman and ANOVOS will post photos of the progress online at http://dave.dorman.wordpress.com and at ANOVOS’ Facebook page, with the final creation to be displayed at the ANOVOS booth (#2913E) on the Comic-Con floor. Limited-edition lithographs of Dorman’s first-ever “Battlestar Galactica” work will be available to purchase for $110 (including tax) at the ANOVOS booth, as well as the artist’s own booth (#4500). Dorman is also scheduled to sign his work at the ANOVOS booth, with dates and times to be posted on the ANOVOS and Dave Dorman Facebook fan pages. ANOVOS will also have many more “Battlestar Galactica” exclusives available at the Novo Geek Booth (#832).

Quantum Mechanix is launching SDCC exclusives for both “Battlestar Galactica” and “Warehouse 13,” and will be offering The Battlestar Galactica Exclusive Admiral Adama Animated Maquette (59.95) and the Ladies of Galactica: All of This Has Happened Before SDCC exclusive poster ($14.95). New products including the Battlestar Galactica Coaster Set (39.95) and a new Ladies of Galactica: Gallery Collection poster set ($34.95) will also have their debut at the show. For the “Warehouse 13” fans, Quantum Mechanix will be doing a first look at the new Pete Warehouse 13 Animated Maquette ($59.95), with the Claudia Warehouse 13 Animated Maquette ($59.95) and new Phoenix Medallion Key-chain (14.95) available at the Quantum Mechanix booth (#2944).
