I must say, this TV promo for The Royals on E! isn’t quite what I expected. While there usually is quite a bit of camp in this series, this short clip takes it a step further. Actually, it is just hilarious, and has more to do with our upcoming presidential election than the series itself!
Nothing else needs to be said other than The Royals third season, consisting of 10 one-hour episodes, returns to our TV screens Sunday, December 4 at 10:00 pm ET/PT, only on E!
“Happy election season, y’all.”
In this hilarious promo for E!’s soapy scripted drama The Royals, Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) addresses the current U.S. presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and assures all Americans not to worry because England is ready to welcome everyone back.
“How’s that whole president thing working out for you?” Queen Helena asks. “Missing home are we? It’s been a few centuries since your Boston Tea Party mishap and look who’s getting royally T-bagged now.”
The Queen’s speech continues, “Such an interesting election, provocative choices. Paul Revere warned everyone, ‘The British are coming!’ Now I’m warning you, your next president is coming.”
But don’t worry, because England is ready to welcome everyone back with open arms.
“We’ll be expecting you,” Queen Helena says. “God save me.”
Take a look at the video above to see the Queen’s speech!
The Royals, which follows a fictional royal family at the center of a corrupt monarchy, also stars William Moseley (“Prince Liam”), Alexandra Park (“Princess Eleanor”), Jake Maskall (“King Cyrus”), Tom Austen (“Jasper”), Genevieve Gaunt (“Willow”), Rocky Marshall (“James Hill”), Victoria Ekanoye (“Rachel”), and Andrew Cooper (“Beck”).
The Royals third season will be 10 one-hour episodes premiering Sunday, Dec. 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT following the premiere of E!’s new docu-series Mariah’s World featuring pop icon Mariah Carey at 9 p.m. ET/PT on E!
