I love the month of October because Halloween is my favorite holiday…but I am definitely looking forward to November because the lovable librarians I adore return!!
In a press release:
The Secret World of TNT’s The Librarians Returns for Season Three
Hit Series Launches New Season on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)
As previously reported, TNT renewed The Librarians for a third season.
This fall, TNT will return to the world of The Librarians with season three of the hugely popular fantasy adventure. Based on TNT’s hit movie franchise, The Librarians centers on an ancient organization dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth and John Kim star in the series as protectors of the world’s mystical treasures, with Emmy® winner John Larroquette as their reluctant caretaker. Noah Wyle (Falling Skies, ER) recurs in seven episodes this season as Flynn Carsen, the role he played in TNT’s hit movie trilogy.
Season three of The Librarians is slated to premiere Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) across TNT’s linear, mobile and digital platforms. Each episode will remain available through the end of the season, allowing viewers to catch up on past episodes at any time.
In the third season of The Librarians, our heroes will face their greatest challenge yet as they go up against the ancient Egyptian God of Chaos to stop him from releasing pure evil into the world. The stakes are especially high, and one Librarian may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world. The team also confronts a new antagonist, D.O.S.A. – The Department of Statistical Anomalies – whose mission is to apprehend the Librarians and take control of the Library and all the magical artifacts hidden inside. Discovering that there are brand new artifacts in the world, the Librarians find themselves torn between the power of magic and the harm those who use it can cause.
The Librarians premiered in 2014 and finished its first season as basic cable’s #2 new series, behind TNT’s The Last Ship. It returned for its second season in late 2015, reaching an average of 5.5 million viewers per episode and ranking among cable’s Top 20 original dramas for the year.
The Librarians is produced by Electric Entertainment, with executive producers Dean Devlin, Marc Roskin and Noah Wyle. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Season One of The Librarians on DVD in the U.S. and Canada on Nov. 1, 2016
