TV News: Margo Martindale Joins the Cast of “The Americans”

Emmy®-award winning actress Margo Martindale has joined the cast of FX’s new dramatic series, The Americans,  premiering Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10 pm ET/PT. Martindale has signed on for a minimum of eight episodes and will be playing the role of “Claudia,” a KGB illegal living in the U.S. who delivers assignments to KGB Directorate S illegals Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, Russian spies posing as Americans.

Martindale is widely known for her performance as “Mags Bennett” in FX’s critically acclaimed series, Justified, the role for which she won an Emmy ® for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also won the Broadcast Journalists Television Association Critics’ Choice Award, and was nominated for Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Drama for the same role. In addition, she was also named one of the “8 Actors Who Turn Television into Art,” the 9/11/11 cover story of “The New York Times Magazine” based on that role.
