What better treat to receive on Halloween than having your favorite ghoulish tv series renewed? Yes, you heard it right – it’s definitely not a trick. American Horror Story has been renewed for a second season of 13 episodes.
According to John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks:
“It’s one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience—it’s something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up,” said Landgraf. “Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee and now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX’s viewers to death for many years to come.”
According to FX, AHS is producing outstanding ratings, growing through its first four weeks. Tonight, beginning at 10:00 PM E/P, there will be a special Halloween marathon of American Horror Story featuring the first four episodes. In this Wednesday’s (Nov. 2, 10:00PM E/P) fifth episode, “Halloween, Part 2,” Halloween night concludes with Tate (Evan Peters) coming face-to-face with his past, and Ben (Dylan McDermott) and Vivien (Connie Britton) are haunted by one of the house’s newest guests.
At the rate AHS is going, it is currently tracking to become the highest-rated first season of any series ever on FX, certain to surpass creator Murphy’s award-winning hit drama Nip/Tuck, and also the award-winning drama, Justified.
I don’t know about you, but this is just about the best Halloween treat I’ve ever received – outside of candy, that is. *big grin*
