Ted Lasso season two arrives July 23, 2021 on Apple TV+
Recently I took part in a zoom press call with the creative minds behind the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso. Featuring a wide range of talented TV insiders they included;
Paul Cripps – Production Designer
Jacky Levy – Costume Designer
Nicky Austin – Hair & Makeup Designer
Theo Park – Casting Director
Tony Von Pervieux – Music Supervisor
AJ Catoline – Editor
Melissa McCoy – Editor
Lawson Deming – VFX Supervisor
Tom Howe – Composer
After obtaining sole ownership of association football team AFC Richmond, after a bitter divorce, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) is determined to stick it to her cheating husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head). Her solution, destroying the one thing he loves. To achieve her goal, Rebecca hires Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), an American football coach to coach AFC Richmond. Hilarity ensues as having never coached soccer before, Ted tries to navigate a sport he knows nothing about in a foreign county.
As a comedic masterpiece, it comes as no surprise Ted Lasso has received high praise from many in the press. As one of those critics, I loved hearing from Theo Park and the others as they shared share stories from the first season. I doubt I’m the only one who is fascinated to learn how the role of Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) and Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) were changed upon meeting Fernández.
Your Entertainment Corner has gone through and trimmed the almost two-hour call into a shorter two-part segment focusing on some of the interesting behind the scenes tidbits.
Part two also features a mesmerizing look at the visual effects used to create the stadium and crowds. Having watched the full season several times now I had no clue how much of the stadium and crowds were digital. It’s an interesting look at the things we take for granted on our favorite shows.
