During SXSW, I sat down with actor Jake McLean to talk about his new film 9 Rides, as well as his upcoming appearance on the ABC series The Real O’Neals. He was very forthcoming and very nice to talk to.
9 Rides is the story of an Uber driver (Dorian Missick) trying to make some extra money on New Year’s Eve in LA. Directed by Matthew A. Cherry, 9 Rides was shot with a shoestring budget using an IPhone 6s. Jake plays one of the drunk college kids who takes a ride with the Uber driver.
As much as I enjoy doing conference calls and red carpet interviews, it’s nice to be able to have a face-to-face conversation as it helps put a face with the name.
A relative newcomer, having only guest starred on a few shows, including ABC’s The Middle, Jake is excited for people to see him on The Real O’Neals. He has high hopes of becoming a recurring character.
9 Rides is being shown at a few film festivals but doesn’t have a wider release date as of yet.
