Sugar Ray Goes Down - Recap, "Dancing with the Stars - The Results Show"

Dancing with the Stars – The Result Show opened with David Garrett and the Harold Wheeler Orchestra playing a lively number, to which the Dance Troupe performed beautifully. Right off the bat, Tom and Brooke called up Chelsea and Mark, Hines and Kym, and Ralph and Karina. With Chelsea and Mark having the highest score last night, it’s a sure bet she’ll be safe this week. The other two couples should also be safe as they had pretty decent scores themselves. If I have to guess, I’d say it will be either Kendra or Sugar Ray who go home tonight. Sugar Ray is my pick to be sent packing.

What? I am shocked and outraged! Chelsea and Mark are sent to the bottom three, while the other two couples are safe! At least the judges are as outraged as I am. They did such a beautiful waltz last night that head judge Len asks them to repeat it tonight. I liked it just as much, if not more, than last night.

Tom announced that next week, the couples will be dancing to the best loved songs about America since it’s National Patriot Day next Monday. To get them ready, Len, or should I say, Lieutenant Len gathered all the couples, dressed in skivvies, to tell them what he expects. He won’t accept piss poor performances from anyone. This skit is really rather funny, especially when Len says, “You gotta be prepared…you gotta put in the work. It’s gonna be grueling. If you’re not puking, you’re not moving.” Even funnier was when Lieutenant Len told Private Hines Ward to drop and give him twenty.

Grammy® and Academy Award® winner Jennifer Hudson was tonight’s special guest. Hudson wowed the crowd with “Don’t Look Down” from her critically acclaimed album, “I’ll Remember Me,” while Louis and Karina danced a very exciting Samba. I have to say, everyone was tapping their feet and clapping, as was I. That girl can really sing!

Chris and Cheryl, Petra and Dmitry, and Romeo and Chelsie were up next and of the three, Petra and Dmitry were in jeopardy. Another result I don’t understand. I thought Petra and Dmitry danced very nicely last night.

All of the pros spoke about how difficult it is to come up with new and different choreography each season, and what they do during the off season to help them. I’ve wondered myself how hard that must be and admire them for the beautiful and intricate performances they come up with each and every week.

Principal dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, Lorena Feijoo, and her sister Lorna Feijoo, principal dancer with the Boston Ballet, along with principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater, Jose Manuel Carreño, performed the most beautiful ballet to a piece from “Swan Lake” that was created especially for Dancing with the Stars.

Jennifer Hudson belted out “Feeling Good” next while members of the Dance Troupe performed to the strains of the expanded Harold Wheeler Orchestra. What a fantastic performance from all involved!

Next to learn their fate were Kirstie and Maks, Kendra and Louis and Sugar Ray and Anna. Kirstie and Maks were declared safe, thank goodness. Also safe to dance next week were Kendra and Louis, leaving Sugar Ray and Anna in the bottom three.

After a brief break, the three couples in jeopardy came back to the stage, where Sugar Ray and Anna were sent home. I can’t say I was surprised. As a matter of fact, Sugar Ray was my pick to go home this week.
