Hello everyone. Although I’m not your regular Lost Girl reviewer, I’m just covering for the week, that doesn’t mean I don’t love the show. In fact, I am so captivated by Lost Girl, I actually look forward to Mondays because of it! Go figure!
Every week, we’re introduced to a new species of Fae, whether it be of the light or dark variety, and the cases seem to get a bit stranger, which suits me just fine. This week, Bo (Anna Silk) and Dyson (Kris Holden Reid) help Kenzi’s (Ksenia Solo) friend Neville (Michael Mando) find out what’s happened to his cousin Thumper (Essando Morales). I know – Thumper? Really? You should hear Kenzi’s nickname – Meow Meow. I don’t know whether to fear the crew with names like that or start cooing mushy sentiments. I digress.
Bo and Dyson go undercover as husband and wife at the posh country club where Thumper has disappeared from. Kenzi helps by posing as an illegal immigrant looking for a waitressing gig. I don’t know who’s giddier about this marriage charade – me or Bo. Dyson appears a bit smitten by the whole notion – the way he plays with the faux wedding band around his finger – but with Bo being a Succubus, how can he have a monogamous future with her? And may I add how freaking hot Dyson looks in a polo shirt and chinos? Something about him just drives me wild. Again, I digress.
When things heat up at a private scotch tasting, Dyson vocalizes his feelings for Bo after he bows them out of the impromptu love-fest that is about to take place.
Dyson: “I don’t want to share you, Bo!”
Bo: “What?”
Dyson: “I don’t want anyone else’s hand on your body. I don’t want anyone’s mouth on yours and I know this is the last thing you want to hear right now.”
Bo: “Why wouldn’t I want to hear that?”
Dyson: “Because you’re a Succubus, Bo. It’s not in your nature to be monogamous.”
Bo: “I’m fighting my nature for you. And I am more than just my species and I don’t see you out there running around howling at the moon and chasing rabbits all day.”
WOW! What a moment! And if that wasn’t sweet enough…
Dyson: “I can be intense. I can be territorial and God knows I can be mule-headed but I’m also yours…if you’ll have me.”
Someone pinch me! That’s the most I’ve heard Dyson say in one episode! And with such heartfelt words, I can only hope he’ll keep his promise of no more secrets with Bo. The ultimatum he gives Trick (Rick Howland) seems very adamant. What is the secret Trick and Dyson are keeping? Who is Bo, really? Is she more powerful than the Blood King – aka Trick?
While Dyson and Bo play the happy couple, Kenzi and Hale (KC Collins) try to find more evidence of the country club’s disappearing staff. One of the things I love most about Lost Girl is the camaraderie among the cast. They all genuinely seem to like each other, giving you the sense they’re all friends outside of the show. The way Kenzi and Hale place bets on when Bo and Dyson will hit the romance skids is hilarious. And things get a little awkward when Kenzi and Hale hide under a desk while searching for evidence. Could Hale be developing feelings for Kenzi? It seems like a natural progression for these two but I honestly think they aren’t a match for one another. The awkwardness works well for the show in keeping the tension but I would not want these two to hook up. They are much better off as friends.
Observations:
Kenzi’s deplorable Venezuelan accent makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. It’s absolutely wretched how badly she butchers the accent. I didn’t know whether she was channeling an Asian or Hispanic person – honestly, it sounded like a medley of both.
There are so many species of Fae and we are never sure if they are
light or dark. We know for certain Saskia (Inga Cadranel) is Dark Fae, and boy, does she show her darkness in “(Dis)Member Only.” When Bo declines her offer to go out and feast, it pisses her off but instead of confronting Bo, Saskia retaliates, hitting where it hurts most – Bo’s heart, which is Dyson.
Dyson: “Can I help you?”
Saskia: “Actually, I think I can help you. I’m the one you’ve been looking for.”
As she attacks Dyson, “Now you know who I am!? Say my name, bitch!”
Is Saskia in any way related to Bo? I’m not sure if she’s old enough to be Bo’s mother and I haven’t a clue/don’t know what she means when she tells Dyson she’s the one he’s been looking for. Does Saskia know more about Bo’s past than she’s letting on?

Funny lines/moments:
When Dyson comments on Kenzi’s impeccable serving skills as a waitress, she graciously thanks him with her middle finger. I love the banter between Kenzi and Dyson – it’s like he’s a big brother.
Kenzi to Bo and Dyson when she learns about what is happening to the staff, “I am murder Fae bait!”

Next week is the season finale and I’m dying to find out what will happen. The good news is we won’t have to wait long for season two because it begins April 16 – just a week after the finale! SCORE!
