Review: Bones, Season 6, Ep 21 “The Signs in the Silence”

Review: Bones, Season 6, Ep 21 "The Signs in the Silence" 1

Overall, while I enjoyed the episode, I’m having issues with Brennan’s cold demeanor throughout “The Signs in the Silence.” The case, however, was very interesting, especially the various methods used to deduce the clues and evidence found. I mean, who knew you could use a wisdom tooth to collect isotopes that would determine where you grew up!

Review – Supernatural, Season 6, Episode 20 – “The Man Who Would Be King”

Review - Supernatural, Season 6, Episode 20 - "The Man Who Would Be King" 2

The demon you know and the angel you thought you knew. There’s apparently a very good reason God didn’t bestow freedom of choice upon his heavenly hosts: they don’t make very good choices. Luckily for “Supernatural” fans, writer and director Ben Edlund made some wonderful visual and narrative choices in this week’s Cas-centric episode, “The Man Who Would Be King.”

Review: The Vampire Diaries, Season 2, Ep. 21 “The Sun Also Rises”

Review: The Vampire Diaries, Season 2, Ep. 21 "The Sun Also Rises" 3

I have to admit, I expected a little more from this episode. Especially since it’s the next to last for the season.

Book Review: “Drums of Autumn” by Diana Gabaldon

Book Review: "Drums of Autumn" by Diana Gabaldon 4

“Drums of Autumn” somewhat focuses on Brianna Randall and her boyfriend, Roger MacKenzie. This time around, Brianna takes the fateful step through the stones to find her parents.

Book Review: “Dead Reckoning” by Charlaine Harris

Book Review: "Dead Reckoning" by Charlaine Harris 5

I will say this is some of Harris’ better work. “Dead Reckoning” is twice the book “Dead in the Family” was. It reads better, flows great and doesn’t hold back.

A Conversation with "In Plain Sight" Executive Producers Ed Decter and John Strauss 6

With the season premiere of USA’s “In Plain Sight” last Sunday, new Executive Producers Ed Decter and John Strauss were happy to host a conference call to explain their vision for the show’s new season and tell us what we can expect. While I was unable to participate in the call, I was lucky enough to receive the transcript so our fans and followers would know what’s going on.

Review: Justified, Season 2, Season Finale “Bloody Harlan”

Review: Justified, Season 2, Season Finale “Bloody Harlan” 7

I loved “Bloody Harlan” because it was filled to the brim with drama, drama, and then some more drama, with a pinch of humorous sarcasm. To say I was surprised and amazed wouldn’t do “Bloody Harlan” justice. My eyeballs left their sockets because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing while my ears grew bigger so I could hear every word being said.

USA Network To Expand Their Slate of Original Programming

USA Network To Expand Their Slate of Original Programming 9

The USA Network is one of my favorite networks to watch, especially in the summer. With their “Character Driven” mantra, they have come up with some very exciting and interesting series that never fail to entertain me! Now, they have 12 more original series in the works, and I can’t decide which ones I’m most looking forward to. Here’s the official announcement, including a brief description of each. Which one do you think will become your favorite?

Kendra Goes Home – Recap Week 7, “Dancing with the Stars – The Results Show”

As we have learned, Kendra Wilkinson left “Dancing with the Stars” tonight. While she has progressed beautifully over the weeks, she hasn’t kept up quite as well as the other contestants. For a recap of the evening, read on dancing fans.

Review: The Borgias, Season 1, Ep 106 “The French King”

Review: The Borgias, Season 1, Ep 106 "The French King" 12

“The French King” was kind of a filler episode. They needed to introduce King Charles and his “ugly noggin” to establish Della Rovere’s incessant hatred and willingness to have his homeland invaded in order to depose the Pope. It was also a means to introduce the scandalous Princess Sancia, whom I think brings a bit of needed sexuality the show has been absent of recently.

Ralph and Hines Tied at the Top – Recap/Review “Dancing with the Stars” Week 7

Dancing with the stars generic logo

So atop the leader board this week, we have a tie between Ralph and Karina, and Hines and Kym. For me, the one to go home tomorrow should be either Kirstie or Romeo. Don’t get me wrong – I like them, but they’re not bringing it as well as some of the others.

Review – Nurse Jackie, Season 3, Episode 6 – “When the Saints Go”

Review - Nurse Jackie, Season 3, Episode 6 - "When the Saints Go" 13

“When the Saints Go” is chock full of dark comedy, light humor and plenty of pathos, and is a classic example of why I love “Nurse Jackie.”

Book Review: “Voyager” by Diana Gabaldon

Book Review: "Voyager" by Diana Gabaldon 14

Yes, it is a definite contender for my favorite of the series. Though I think “Outlander” is safe in its number one spot.

Review – The Killing, Season 1, Episode 6 “What You Have Left”

Review - The Killing, Season 1, Episode 6 "What You Have Left" 15

I’m sure I’m not the only person thinking this, but I don’t think we’ll find out who Rosie’s killer is until the final episode. I have no clue anymore. The suspects are all duly suspicious, but do they truly have motives for wanting to do away with Rosie?

Review – In Plain Sight Season Premiere, S4, E1 – “The Art of the Deal”

Review - In Plain Sight Season Premiere, S4, E1 - "The Art of the Deal" 16

Change. This season, it’s all about change. Change in the workplace and change in personal lives. “The Art of the Steal” is a terrific season opener. It’s fast-paced, Mary and Marshall play off each other beautifully, and the addition of new characters should provide us with plenty of laughs going forward, as Mary learns how to deal with them.

Review: Bones, Season 6, Ep 20 “The Pinocchio in the Planter”

Review: Bones, Season 6, Ep 20 "The Pinocchio in the Planter" 17

Is it just me or is Booth (David Boreanaz) a bit more cocky, even more short-tempered than normal? Why is he questioning Hodgins’ (TJ Thyne) presence at the crime scene? I mean, Hodgins is the bug and dirt guy, so why wouldn’t he be there? Yes, he’s not always there on every case, but I just didn’t like how Booth questioned his being there – he was being slightly rude.

Review: The Vampire Diaries, Season 2, Ep 20 "The Last Day" 18

Elijah’s main concern is being rid of his brother rather than retaliating for being “killed.” Dagger through the heart, remember? Wouldn’t you want revenge if everyone who had something to do with killing you were close at hand?

Advance Review: Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Final Season, Ep 1 “Rispetto”

Advance Review: Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Final Season, Ep 1 "Rispetto" 19

“Rispetto” is the Italian word for respect and this final season premiere deserves it! Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Det. Robert Goren and despite his absence last season, he doesn’t miss a beat! The mannerisms, the quirks, even his voice commands the screen as he questions suspects in the murder of a young call-girl.

Raylan is hellbent on finding out who the trigger man was; he’s pretty sure it’s Dickie (Jeremy Davies). But he can’t prove it. And Dickie isn’t a fool. He planted his accomplice Jed’s (Richard Speight, Jr.) blood at the crime scene just in case. What Raylan doesn’t know yet is why Dickie was at Arlo’s in the first place.

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3, Ep 305 "Dr. Hattaras' Miracle Elixir" 23
