I love me some good ballroom and Latin dancing and was excited to hear the announcement of the cast for Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars. As usual, there are stars I recognize and a few I don’t. Sorry, I’m not so much into sports and opera. Anyway, the live two-hour event begins Monday, March 19, 2012 at 8/7c on ABC and the first Dancing with the Stars: Result Show will air Tuesday, March 27. Without further ado, here is the list of stars, along with their professional partners.

A Degas Painting, A Blind Date, and a Birthday Party. Review: Smash – “The Cost of Art”
Rehearsals for “Marilyn: The Musical” get underway; Eileen (Angelica Huston) finds a way to finance the show; and Karen (Katherine McPhee) receives help from an unusual source. The title, “The Cost of Art,” seems to have quite a few meanings relative to the episode—the literal cost of the painting Eileen has to sell, the emotional toll selling the painting to finance the musical takes, and the lengths to which the actors, director and producer will go to make a musical great.

Movie: BERNIE – starring Jack Black (Dark comedy based on true story of Asst. Funeral Director in Texas)
Based on a true story: In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede was one of the town’s most beloved residents. He taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone loved and appreciated Bernie, so it came as no surprise when he befriended Marjorie Nugent, an affluent widow who was as well known for her sour attitude as her fortune. The people of Carthage were shocked when it was reported that Marjorie Nugent had been dead for some time, and Bernie Tiede was being charged with the murder.

The King of Swing vs The Gentleman Criminal, Review: White Collar – “Stealing Home”
What do you get when you mix a popular, careful, smart criminal with a con artist like Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer), then stir in an undercover, FBI-sanctioned sting operation and add a pinch of Yankee Stadium? Magic. Tim DeKay’s directorial debut with “Stealing Home” not only adds emotional resonance to the weekly crime caper, but moves the story of Neal’s pending commutation hearing along with the easy pacing of a seasoned director.

Review: #JustifiedFX “When the Guns Come Out” (Not too many guns but plenty of thugs, whores, and pimps)
Trust your gut instincts. I should have trusted mine about Winona (Natalie Zea) wanting to high-tail it out of town. Not only has Winona been gone for weeks, everyone and their mothers seem to know she’d already checked out of the relationship with Raylan (Timothy Olyphant). I wish I would have put two and two together from the first episode when a State Trooper had to find Winona to tell her Raylan had been shot. Was I so blind? Too blind to see what’s in front of me because I was wishing and hoping Raylan had found some semblance of normalcy with Winona? So what else am I missing that I may have been temporarily blind to previously?

A Former Love, A Despised Love and Family Love. Review: Smash, S1, E3 – “Enter Mr. DiMaggio”
“Do you think he gave me the part because I slept with him?” ~ Ivy (Megan Hilty) to Jessica (Savannah Wise). Not only is this question on Ivy’s mind, it’s on everyone else’s too. As well it should be since it seems Derek (Jack Davenport) will stop at nothing to get his way. It amazes me that Ivy believes the hogwash Derek feeds her. She may be experienced when it comes to Broadway productions, but she’s a bit naïve when it comes to matters of the heart. Perhaps it’s those rose-colored glasses she’s wearing.

Love, Divorce, and a Failed Meth Lab. Review: Shameless, S2, E7 – “A Bottle of Jean Nate” @SHO_Kareem
Jasmine (Amy Smart) fails to tell Fiona (Emily Rossum) that Steve (Justin Chatwin) and his wife Estefania (Stephanie Fantauzzi) will be among the guests at her end-of-summer bash aboard her lover’s yacht. Frank (William H. Macy) is having a really hard time dealing with his mother, and Kev (Steve Howey) can’t handle Ethel’s (Madison Davenport) disappearance. Karen (Laura Wiggins) regrets her decision to marry Jody (Zach McGowan), and Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) finally work things out. Another terrific episode of Shameless!

Review: The Walking Dead “Triggerfinger” (Lori is Stirring Up Trouble… Shane Better Watch Out)
“Triggerfinger” brings a lot of insight to the group as a whole. Glenn is down on himself for being so self-absorbed, but is that a bad thing? Darryl is pulling away from the group but Carol is determined to keep him from straying too far. Shane is going off the deep end and trying to take Lori with him.

Review: #JustifiedFX “Thick As Mud” (The Misadventures of Dewey Crow…to be or not to be…without kidneys?)
As I suspected, Dewey (Damon Herriman) is lying in a bathtub, sans the ice. Poor thing, it appears both kidneys have been removed by Lance (Clayne Crawford) or “Lawrence Nightingale” as Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) calls him, leaving Dewey up the proverbial Shit’s Creek without a boat or a paddle. But, don’t believe everything you see.
