For those who wonder what actually happens in Comic-Con press events beyond what the media photos reveal, here is my personal take on what happened in this busy, witty, and entertaining session.

A Long Con or a Change of Heart? Review: White Collar – “Honor Among Thieves”
Neal has spent his life working angles in order to survive. In many ways, he’s like the mobile by Pascal that is the artistic centerpiece for this heist. The mobile is about perception – modern art that some might dismiss as trash while others declare it priceless. Its beauty is in its constant motion—always shifting, turning, catching angles of light so that each time you look at it, you see something slightly different. Neal has mastered the art of perception, making people see in him what he wants them to see, and it’s only recently that he’s questioning that visibility.

The Theo Rossi, Ryan Hurst and Kim Coates’ Tig Orgy – Plus Coates’ Tribute Tattoo and Will Opie Ever Patch Things Up with Jax?
Theo Rossi, Ryan Hurst and Kim Coates’ characters – Juice, Ryan and Tig – went through so much last season, leaving a myriad of unresolved issues that will have to be dealt with in the upcoming fifth season of Sons of Anarchy. Will things get better or worse for them with Jax Teller as the new SAMCRO president? We sat down with the actors during San Diego’s Comic Con to discuss how are things were playing out so far.

Truth – I miss Wilfred from season 1. Review: Wilfred, S2 “Truth”
A show of hands — who is disappointed with season two so far? I had to put both my hands up because I’m disheartened at how much this show has taken a turn for the…deep. Deep, as in the writers are diving too deep into the psyche of the characters and focusing less on the amazing dark comedy showcased in season one.

Burned. Review: Lost Girl – “The Girl Who Fae’d With Fire”
The next scene is like a loud echo of the scene in the film Mystic Pizza, where Julia Roberts’ character tells off her rich boyfriend for using her, “a poor Portugue,” to get back at his wealthy family. Other than Fletcher and Val being snobby and haughty toward humans, they believe that Fae should not coexist with humans, as Hale believes they should.

Review: True Blood “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” So Will It Be Bill or Russell?
The liberties taken by the writers in True Blood illustrate just how off the mark the show has become. I won’t say all the deviations haven’t been interesting, because some of them have, but I wonder what this season would have looked like had Eric and Sookie spent more time figuring out the dynamic of their relationship.

Comic-Con – Sons of Anarchy: As Jax Excels as SAMCRO’s President, is Charlie Hunnam Ready to Be a Blockbuster Star?
We caught up with Charlie Hunnam during the Sons of Anarchy press conference during San Diego’s Comic-Con. The number one question on most reporters’ minds was if Jax Teller is mentally and emotionally ready to be the next SAMCRO president in the show’s upcoming fifth season. And more importantly, what does Hunnam think about it?

Comic-Con – Kurt Sutter: The Expansion of the Sons of Anarchy Universe, Season Five and the Truth about John Teller’s Death
The last time I attended San Diego Comic-Con was two years ago. Sons of Anarchy was picking up steam but it wasn’t the worldwide hit it is today. I also recall Kurt Sutter discussing his dislike for crowds as if he dreaded having to go to Comic-Con. Flash forward to 2012: Sons of Anarchy is the most successful show in FX Network’s history and Sutter seemed almost –strong emphasis there– excited to be at Comic-Con.

Comic-Con 2012 – MAGGIE SIFF: Fans Will See a More Protective and Angrier Tara in Season Five
Maggie Siff’s character, Dr. Tara Knowles, will be the new queen of the SAMCRO universe when the upcoming season five of Sons of Anarchy premieres on September 11. The anticipation of how that is going to play out is high among the show’s fans. Armed with a long list of questions, I was determined to find out as much as possible during the show’s press conference at Comic-Con.

2012 Comic-Con: Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam Talk about Going from Sons of Anarchy to… Slow Dancing Together! (Yes, You Read that Right.)
Apparently, Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam can’t get enough of working together. After filming FX’s hit drama Sons of Anarchy for the last five years, they also appear together in Jordan Robert’s small independent film Frankie Go Boom and in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim—one of the anticipated summer 2013 blockbusters.
