“Save Yourself” is not a great season finale. In fact, it’s one of the worst I think I’ve ever seen. I was bored. The only scenes I liked were the few that made me laugh, and even they couldn’t save this finale.

All’s Well that Ends Well Isn’t Necessarily the Case. Review: Season Finale of Episodes – “Episode 209”
The network’s “Man of the Year” awards ceremony, where Merc (John Pankow) is to receive the Vivaldi Award, starts off well enough, but things don’t go exactly as planned. “Episode 209” forces the characters (and us) to take a deep, introspective look at their lives, and is a fun, entertaining way of wrapping up the second season of this brilliant comedy.

Pass The Dutchie… Review: Suits, S2 Mid-Season Finale “High Noon”
“High Noon” is exciting, intriguing, infuriating, eye-popping, and throws in a little tear-jerker moment for good measure. I was absolutely glued to my seat and couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, this episode is so engaging. From Jessica (Gina Torres) getting the short end of the stick after all the votes are tallied, to Harvey and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) having to move to the 46th floor (gasp), things take a strange turn for everyone at Pearson Hardmon.

Interview: Paulo Costanzo Talks About Directing His First Episode of Royal Pains
I was so lucky to participate yesterday in a teleconference with Paulo Costanzo, one of the stars of Royal Pains, who recently directed his first episode. That episode, “Dancing with the Devil,” airs Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 9/8c, only on USA Network. I can’t begin to tell you how much fun it was talking to Paulo—he’s such a personable guy, so forthcoming, with a terrific sense of humor, as I’m sure you’d all expect.

Mozzie, Spies, and Puppets – Oh My! Review: White Collar – “Identity Crisis”
It is a true measure of a show’s quality, I think, when it can tell the story of a quirky romp with a multitude of golden one-liners and grin-worthy inside jokes and still manage to keep the sentimental back-beat of the season-long theme going at its core. “Identity Crisis” is, at first glance, a story of a treasure hunt. Through a series of seemingly unconnected events, Mozzie (Willie Garson) discovers a potentially priceless piece of American history and elicits help from Neal (Matt Bomer) and Peter (Tim DeKay) to find it. But it’s more than that, really.

The (Bastard) Prince of Portland? Review: Grimm, S2 “The Kiss”
The cryptic clues to Cpt. Sean Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) identity throughout “The Kiss” had me salivating. I knew he was something…else, and as Catherine (Jessica Tuck) mentions, he’s “barely human.” But what he is isn’t exactly quite clear. And as the episode unfolds, more is revealed and that makes me very happy.

Totally Charmed at Chicago Comic-Con – Super Hero Flying is Not What It Is Cut Out to Be
I ventured for the first time to the 2012 Chicago Comic-Con, otherwise known as Chicago’s Wizard World. Attendance figures have not been released but the event, held at the Donald P. Stephens Convention Center), was packed. Having attended San Diego’s Comic-Con last month, I felt right at home seeing excited fans in costumes and a full day of programming events.

The future is unknown… Review: Falling Skies, S2 Finale “A More Perfect Union”
While I believe there are Skitters who want to be free of the oppression of the humanoid overlords, I think they may have their own agendas once the overlords are defeated. After learning from the Skitters that the overlord is creating some sort of weapon, it makes me wonder if the Skitters are leading the 2nd Mass into an ambush.

“…tapped it and scrapped it” Review: Wilfred, S2 “Service”
“Service” is a bit better than last week’s episode, but just barely. While there were early chuckles, thanks to the much underutilized Rob Riggle who plays Kevin, one of Ryan’s (Elijah Wood) co-workers, the rest of the humor, or shall I say attempts at humor, were sort of lost on me. Perhaps in a later episode, we’ll learn the reason behind Wilfred’s (Jason Gann) strange…diet, if you will.
