Secrets Revealed. Review: The Americans – “The Oath”
We’ve spent quite a bit of time examining the parallels between the Americans and the Soviets during the Cold War, and “The Oath” does a good job of continuing in that vein. It explores the similarities and differences between Martha (Alison Wright) and Clark/Philip’s (Matthew Rhys) friendship, and Stan’s (Noah Emmerich) relationship with Nina (Annet Mahendru), and shocks me with some of the outcomes.

TV News: Travel Channel Adds Four New Original Series to its 2013 Programming Lineup
According to today’s Upfront presentation in New York City, Travel Channel will premiere Adam Richman’s Fandemonium beginning Sunday, July 14 at 10pm ET/PT, an exciting new series that will follow Travel Channel host Adam Richman as he searches for the biggest and wildest fan events across America. Three other new series have been greenlit for production as well: adventure series Get Lost (working title), Best Daym Takeout with YouTube’s Daymon Patterson as host, and Backroad Gold, hosted by antique car expert Corky Coker.

TV News: Jack’s Back! Syfy Renews Haunted Highway For Second Season
Syfy has ordered a second season of its hit paranormal reality series, Haunted Highway. The new six episode season will premiere, on a new night, Wednesday, July 24 at 10PM (ET/PT). Fueled by eyewitness interviews and evidence collected with state-of-the-art equipment, the two teams will self-document their harrowing face-to-face encounters with the paranormal.

Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) and Jackie (Edie Falco) can’t come to an agreement on the terms of their divorce, and Dr. Prentiss (Morris Chestnut) uses a special technique to remove a spider from a little boy’s (Skylar Gaertner) ear. Problems arise when Hannah (Sarah Steele), one of last week’s bus crash victims, returns to All Saints with sepsis, which she contracted at the hospital, and Zoey (Merritt Wever) cheerfully volunteers to be the hand wash monitor. It’s just another day on the job at All Saints. Or, is it? After all, it’s Jackie’s birthday!

TV News: Grimm Moves to Tuesdays Following NBC’s Cancellation of Ready for Love
Now that NBC has decided to cancel the Eva Longoria-produced dating series Ready for Love, the peacock network is moving the fairy tale inspired series Grimm into its timeslot on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET beginning April 30, following the previously scheduled two-hour episode of The Voice. Grimm will remain in the 10 p.m. Tuesday timeslot through May 21.

TV News: FX Acquires New George Lopez Sitcom, “Saint George”
According to a press release today, FX has closed a deal for a new half-hour sitcom, Saint George, starring George Lopez. This series marks Lopez’s first starring role since his long-running ABC series, George Lopez, and follows the chaotic life of a recently divorced working class Mexican-American turned successful entrepreneur. Saint George is modeled after FX’s Anger Management, starring Charlie Sheen, among others, in that 10 initial episodes are ordered, and if the series meets designated ratings thresholds over its first 10-episode run, the network will trigger an additional 90-episode order.
