Campaign of Harassment. Retrospective: Justified – “Shot All to Hell”

Campaign of Harassment. Retrospective: Justified – “Shot All to Hell” 3

I must begin with an apology. I have made a grievous error. I’m such an idiot. In last week’s “Over the Mountain,” I confidently said Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) didn’t have anything to do with Nicky Augustine’s (Mike O’Malley) death at the airport but I was wrong. I went back to that episode and although Raylan didn’t pull the trigger, he should have stopped the massacre; he is a U.S Marshal after all. This secret leads us to the events in “Shot All to Hell,” during which Raylan is put in a compromising position after learning why Art (Nick Searcy) went to Detroit to investigate Sammy Tonin’s (Max Perlich) death.

No Looting, More Brooding. Retrospective: Black Sails - “II.” 5

Admittedly, the latest episode of Starz’s Black Sails, “II.,” starts a bit slow, but when it comes time to hit the hardline plot points, it definitely leaves an impression. Understandably, the series is establishing the fundamentals of its world so yes, there will be a bit of lag. The question, however, is if the ending pays off. Well, my friends, it sure as hell does. The last 20 minutes gets back to the heart of the matter: treasure, aka, Urca del Lima.;

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Screenwriter Kayla Alpert About Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind

Since the moment V.C. Andrews’ novel Flowers in the Attic made its literary debut in 1979, shocking readers everywhere with its gothic story of a group of children locked away in a mansion, it has not only become a classic but the subject of much debate with its disturbing content revolving around abuse, murder, and …

Bricks Are A Girl’s Best Friend. Review: White Collar - “Diamond Exchange” 6

“Diamond Exchange” consists of 58 wonderful minutes that do a great job of ending the series as Neal (Matt Bomer) and Peter (Tim Dekay) hug and say goodbye. It’s hard to believe that after five seasons…oops, wait, we don’t know whether there will or won’t be a season six so ”Diamond Exchange, with two minutes left…quick, toss in a cliffhanger and then fade to black.

Where John Takes a Bullet. Review: The Tomorrow People – “Sitting Ducks” 10

I’m sure it’s just me and not really what’s going on in “Sitting Ducks” because the episode doesn’t suck … much. Some of the action sequences though, can’t say the same for them.

Family Sucks. Review: Justified – “Over the Mountain”

Family Sucks. Review: Justified – “Over the Mountain” 15

After the revelations in “Good Intentions,” it seems things are aligned perfectly for catastrophe to strike. The events that occur in “Over the Mountain” may not all be dire, most are life altering, some even life stopping. Who knew Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman) could pull off such a convincing bluff? He’s still a terrible shot but I never thought of Dewey as a killer. And since this season is supposedly about the Crowes, it is refreshing to see them take center stage in “Over the Mountain.”

Of Monsters And Men. Retrospective: Black Sails – “I.” 19

Don’t let the impressive set design, beautiful cast, and talented crew of STARZ’s new high seas drama series Black Sails fool you; this isn’t anything like a certain popular theme park ride turned blockbuster movie starring Johnny Depp. No, Black Sails is a gritty and unapologetic story of greed and ambition inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale, Treasure Island.

And Darkness Shall Prevail. Review: Dracula – “Let There Be Light” 20

“Let There Be Light” doesn’t disappoint. It’s an amazing season finale that leaves viewers gasping, guessing, and greedy for more. I don’t know about you but I’m dying for another season.

Just Die Already! Kidding. Retrospective: The Vampire Diaries – “500 Years of Solitude” 21

“500 Years of Solitude” doesn’t pull at my heartstrings. The only enjoyable moments were Klaus’ return, seeing Jenna and Alaric, and the soundtrack for the episode.

Silence of the Wesen. Review: Grimm – “The Wild Hunt”

Silence of the Wesen. Review: Grimm – “The Wild Hunt” 22

A deranged, cop killing Wesen, a $178 bottle of wine, some scalping, a proposal, and meeting the parents are just a few of the things happening in “The Wild Hunt.” Although this episode contains some intense scenes, ambiguity, and some disgusting events, I found myself getting a bit bored. I can’t pinpoint what is missing but I can say the slow progression of the season needs to speed up — sooner rather than later. It’s the very end of “The Wild Hunt” that will leave you in suspense.
