Justified may be on its way out but it’s not going quietly into that good night; no way. “Fate’s Right Hand” takes you by the scruff of your collar and throws you into a world of hurt, betrayal, and just the right amount of humor for good measure. If you were disappointed with season five, what I’ve seen in the first three episodes of season six makes up for it ten times over. I can’t wait to find out what happens this season.

“Private Eye, Caramba!” is a fun and sexy episode! In the opening scene, a beautiful young woman dressed in a glittering gown runs down a dark alley and just before her neighbor is able to buzz her into her apartment, someone grabs her. The next thing you know, the young starlet is dead. Anahita Menendez (Cindy Luna) was one of the stars of a hit telenovela but there is much more to her death than meets the eye.

The combination of comedic and dramatic scenes is what Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (#GG2D) does extremely well. In “Rule 17: Ask the Answer Lady!” (“Rule 17”), Director Brian Dannelly knows exactly when to mix humor into an otherwise serious scene, and when not to. As a matter of fact, the very first scene of “Rule 17” is total comedy at its best and had me laughing out loud from the first shot.

Episodic writer Krista Vernoff provides some of the best, most witty dialogue in this week’s installment of Shameless. If I have one complaint about “I’m the Liver,” it’s the pacing. The episode switches from scene to scene, story line to story line so quickly, you barely have time to digest what you’ve just seen before another story line pops up. I mean, some scenes contain only one or two lines of dialogue! Other than that, “I’m the Liver” is an extremely entertaining episode.

#Grimm comes back from winter break with a vengeance! “Wesenrein” is dark, gritty, bloody, and unapologetic. It’s also engrossing, evoking emotions I don’t normally feel while watching Grimm. I was ready to hurt someone and I’m still feeling antsy after all is said and done. “Wesenrein” picks up with Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) screaming as she stares at her transformation. We also continue with the story line of Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) being kidnapped right in front of his house.

American Horror Story: Freak Show (AHS: Freak Show) has had many defining moments this year, but none as significant as in the latest episode, “Show Stoppers.” As the penultimate episode for the season, “Show Stoppers” is a major turning point for the dear “monsters” in Elsa’s (Jessica Lange) Cabinet of Curiosities. The episode also marks the time we say goodbye—or good riddance—to some key characters whose impact will definitely be felt during next week’s season finale.

“Rule 67” has the usual superb acting we’ve come to expect, especially in the scenes with Edelstein and Adelstein. They have great onscreen chemistry. Director Daisy Von Scherler Mayer gives us perfection with her direction of the characters and scenes. I love the way she positions Phoebe when Ralf goes to get the necklace, and then shows the disappointment on her face while bathing it in sunlight.

“Milk of the Gods” is another great season premiere of Shameless. Filled with the terrific acting we’ve come to expect from the cast, as well as sharp and witty dialogue, “Milk of the Gods” doesn’t disappoint. It gives us all the raunchy and shameless things we love about this wild and dysfunctional family, and sets up the new season perfectly.

Coming to a flat screen/laptop/smartphone near you, is the new Syfy series 12 Monkeys, based on Terry Gilliam’s film of the same name. Just so you know kids, time travel is not full of fun and games like Doctor Who makes it out to be. At least that’s what we are shown when watching 12 Monkeys. It’s painful, confusing, full of rules, and death.
