There are people in this world who have left a lasting impression long after their death. One of these iconic figures who affected the world following his tragic suicide is Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck is the first documentary about Cobain made with the cooperation of his family. From a happy child to a disturbed, lonely soul who created art only an obsessive, dismal mind can make, the documentary doesn’t pull any punches…

Video: Interview – The Road Within (Director Gren Wells, Actors Robert Patrick and Robert Sheehan)
On a very warm, sunny Tuesday morning, I drove over to West LA for a coveted sit down interview for the newly released film The Road Within all by myself. I didn’t have to share the room with other journalists (who were all sitting in the next room waiting for their turn) – it was just me sitting across from director Gren Wells, and actors Robert Patrick and Robert Sheehan. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. For those of you who know me, when I get nervous, my southern accent comes out.

Movie Review: The Road Within – Different is the New Normal.
Have you ever felt different or feel like you don’t belong? If so, this film shows you that you matter – maybe not to everyone, but you do matter to someone. It only takes one person to show you that are loved to make a big difference. The stories that make up The Road Within aren’t just about the illnesses plaguing our trio. The label of being normal is a stigma our society can’t seem to let go of. What is normal, anyway? The journey Vincent, Alex, and Marie embark on is both a personal and collective one. They learn about themselves through the eyes of others and also discover the ability to control and change their sometimes destructive behavior.

The Goldbergs – “La Biblioteca Es Libros” Retrospective. F as in Fail.
Nothing symbolizes maturity more than getting your first job. Regardless of what that job is and what you go on to do in life, it’s something you never forget. Mine was a paper route delivering the AM and PM editions of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. It was a great way to earn money and I was lucky because my route was all apartment buildings, making my deliveries fast and easy.

The Comedians – “Come to the House” Retrospective. Guys’ Night.
With the premiere for “The Billy and Josh Show” only weeks away and the studio breathing down their necks, Billy (Billy Crystal) and Josh (Josh Gad) continue their struggle to find the right balance for their sketch comedy. Will the two stars be able to sort out their differences, both personally and creatively, or is the show doomed to fail?

The Americans – “I Am Abassin Zadran” Retrospective. What to Do?
“I Am Abassin Zadran” is an exciting episode and sets up the season finale perfectly. I hope we’ll see the culmination to the Walter Taffet (guest star Jefferson Mays) story line, what happens with Martha, the close of the Northrup plot and the end of Maurice, and a resolution of what to do with Paige.

Justified – “The Promise” Review. Goodbye, Harlan.
This isn’t a tear-jerker series finale, that’s for damn sure. If anything, Justified leaves its fans laughing more than anything, throwing in a gasp or two for good measure. What you thought could happen didn’t and what you hoped would happened also probably didn’t. As I’ve said numerous times throughout my reviews of this final season, Justified has become unpredictable; guess the episodes had to stay that way until the very surprising end. People die, and even hats aren’t safe in Harlan. It’s a bittersweet end but we have to say a final goodbye to Harlan County, Kentucky.

Video: Interviews – Fox’s Wayward Pines Wonder Con 2015
If you haven’t heard of Wayward Pines, then hold on to your sanity because this is one show that will test your nerves. Based on the book series by Blake Crouch, the 10-episode limited series of the same name, Wayward Pines, is reminiscent of shows like Twin Peaks and Happy Town which were both ominous and chilling at times. It also has elements of movies like The Village and Signs in the sense that you aren’t sure if people are who they say they are or if the things that go bump in the night are from this world. Coincidentally, the director of these two films, Oscar® and Golden Globe® nominee M. Night Shyamalan, is one of the executive producers of Wayward Pines and directs an episode.
