Electronic music was born from the ideals of diversity, community, and inclusivity; yet in 2019 only 7% of Billboard’s Top 100 DJs were women. They make up less than 3% of production and technical roles in the music industry. For women of colour, it’s less than 0.3%.

Recap: Snowpiercer S02, Ep 3. – “A Great Odyssey” Cold and Calculated
“A Great Odyssey” begins with the enigmatic Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) giving morning announcements aboard Big Alice. Like many announcements we have been privy too aboard Snowpiercer, more so in season one, Mr. Wilford encourages the passengers through thinly veiled threats against those on Snowpiercer.

Recap: Resident Alien Season 1, Ep. 2 “Homesick” – Therapy, Cows, and Bowling Balls
Syfy’s Resident Alien is quickly becoming a favorite. The humor is absolutely hilarious thanks to clever writing, zinging one-liners, and the outstanding acting. “Homesick” made me literally laugh out loud even more than “Pilot.” This episode is full of therapy sessions, strange encounters with dairy cows, and murderous accidents that don’t pan out.

Recap: Snowpiercer S02, Ep 2. – “Smolder to Life” Ghosts of the Past and Earth’s Revival
Season 2 of Snowpiercer is intense. It’s only episode 2, “Smolder to Life,” and things are certainly more dramatic and shocking than I anticipated. There is a specific scene that warrants a PSA at the end of the episode regarding suicide prevention. It’s f**ked up what happens and I am still a bit perplexed as to why it had to happen.

Review: Resident Alien Series Premiere “Pilot.” – Aliens, Whiskey, and a Murder.
Syfy’s Resident Alien is entertaining, darkly comedic, and full of sarcasm. I had no expectations before watching the series premiere “Pilot,” but I left excited and wanting more! Tudyk turns in a brilliant performance, as usual. His nuanced delivery of an alien adapting and pretending to be human is truly resplendent.

Review: Snowpiercer S02, Ep 1. – “The Time of Two Engines” Strange and Chilly Times Ahead
Season 2 of Snowpiercer picks up immediately where the season 1 finale, “The Train Demanded Blood” and “994 Cars Long,” left off, and it is worth the wait! So many chilly (literally and figuratively) turn of events in just the season premiere; I am on pins and needles to see what unfolds over the second season.
