American Horror Story: Coven Red Carpet/Premiere
Pacific Design Center, West Hollywood, CA
First, let me say, this was my first time inside the famed Pacific Design Center and it’s gorgeous. Now, on to the chaos that was the AHS: Coven red carpet. For the ‘big players’ there were no issues as they were in the beginning of the press line and since they are first up, they get nearly all the best interviews. For the smaller sites, like YEC, we are towards the end of the line and by the time the stars have repeated themselves, answering similar questions ad nauseam, they are less than enthusiastic to do their umpteenth interview.
Thankfully, some of the FX publicists ushered some stars to the end, and surprise surprise, Ryan Murphy (show creator/executive producer) started at our end rather than the beginning. YAY! FYI – the red carpet was set up inside the center and the stars were escorted in a sort of circular pattern to walk around to the front of the line then walk down to the end where it opens up leading to the theater. I digress.
While I didn’t get to interview many of the bigger names, I did get Mr. Murphy, Denis O’Hare, Frances Conroy, a bit from Kathy Bates, and an interview with newcomer Alexander Dreymon who will play Luke.
Without further ado, here is the video compilation of the interviews along with a gallery of photos I took at the event. What was really cool is there were some other celebrities there for the premiere including Jane Lynch (Glee), Amanda Peet (Identity, A Lot Like Love), and…wait for it…Kristen Bauer van Straten (aka Pam from True Blood).
