BAGUALES, PATAGONIA, ARGENTINA -SEPTEMBER 10 2017: Host Don Wildman pauses in the Andes mountains during the filming of “Mysteries at the Museum Special: ALIVE”, which examines the story of the October 1972 crash of the plane carrying an Uruguayan Rugby team in the Andes mountains. After a visit to the Andes Tragedy and Miracle Museum in Montevideo, Uruguay, Don Wildman learns firsthand what it took for the crash’s sixteen survivors to overcome avalanches, sub-zero temperatures, and lack of food at 12.000 feet, and the devastating news that the search for them had been called off, as described in survivor Nando Parrado’s book “Miracle in the Andes”

“I’ll explore some of the most studied and debated mysteries that continue to fascinate us decades after they occurred,” said Wildman. “In many of the specials, I’ll visit the actual places or spaces that sparked an uncommon experience, talk with the world’s foremost experts to understand `what really happened’ and go deep inside museum collections that will forever allow us to study and memorialize these mysteries.”

In upcoming specials, Wildman will investigate widely known stories and historic artifacts. He will trek through the ruins of Pompeii to the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius and travel to Egypt in search of Cleopatra’s tomb. He also will delve into the true story behind the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and the man who shot him, John Wilkes Booth. And, from the hidden routes of the Underground Railroad to the truth about Custer’s last stand and the secrets behind Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel and more, Wildman is on a mission to tell stories that captivate our imaginations.
