SHOWTIME® TO AIR WORLD TELEVISION PREMIERE OF BLACK SABBATH: THE END OF THE END
CAPTURING LEGENDARY BAND’S FINAL CONCERT
Historic Farewell Performance To Debut Saturday, October 28
LOS ANGELES – September 29, 2017 – SHOWTIME will air BLACK SABBATH: THE END OF THE END, a film showcasing Black Sabbath’s final concert, making its world television premiere Saturday, October 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. BLACK SABBATH: THE END OF THE END captures the farewell performance by the Grammy®-winning band’s Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler in their hometown of Birmingham, England on February 4 at the Genting Arena – the culmination of their 81-date sold-out “The End” world tour.
Beginning with the song “Black Sabbath,” the title track from their 1970 debut album, Black Sabbath performs “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” “Paranoid” and more, all for the last time live. The film also weaves in behind-the-scenes concert footage and interviews with the band members discussing their epic careers. Having sold more than 70 million records globally, Black Sabbath was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
Directed by Dick Carruthers and executive produced by Geoff Kempin and Terry Shand for Eagle Rock Entertainment, BLACK SABBATH: THE END OF THE END joins an esteemed list of projects airing on SHOWTIME that capture culture-defining figures, including WHITNEY. “CAN I BE ME,” the concert film PRINCE: SIGN ‘O’ THE TIMES (unseen in the United States for more than 20 years before its debut on SHOWTIME), GEORGE MICHAEL: FREEDOM (premiering October 21), TIM & FAITH: SOUL2SOUL from GrammyAward-winning superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill premiering on Friday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and ERIC CLAPTON: A LIFE IN 12 BARS, which will air nationally on SHOWTIME next year following its world premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
