(October 12, 2018) — SwingLake Entertainment has announced the start of production on WALKAWAY JOE, as Tom Wright’s directorial debut. Wright is known for his acting work in PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, BARBERSHOP, and RAY DONOVAN. Principal photography began in September in St. John’s Parish, Louisiana.

From writer Michael Milillo (CHURCHILL), WALKAWAY JOE is the story of an unlikely friendship between a teenage boy searching for his father and a wandering loner hiding from his past. When Dallas’ pool-hustling father abandons his family, Dallas takes to his bicycle to find him. Dallas is determined to bring his father home. Enter Joe Haley, a drifter wrestling with a past he’d rather forget. Feeling responsible for the boy’s safety, Joe reluctantly takes him in.
