Trafficked, a new drama thriller starring Ashley Judd, Anne Archer, Elizabeth Röhm, and Sean Patrick Flanery, is inspired by real characters from the award-winning book “Sex Trafficking” by Harvard professor Siddharth Kara. The movie opens in theaters October 6 in New York and October 13 in Los Angeles.
Three girls from America, Nigeria, and India are trafficked through an elaborate network and enslaved in a Texas brothel. Together, they attempt a daring escape to reclaim their freedom in this intense, emotional, horrifying movie that is a culmination of Kara’s work.
Trafficked is intended to be both a compelling portrayal of the insidious industry that enslaves millions of vulnerable girls worldwide, as well as a catalyst for more robust initiatives to tackle human trafficking and put an end to slavery and child labor. Child trafficking enslaves girls 14 years of age and up, and generates profits of more than a hundred billion dollars a year.
Trafficked is distributed by Epic Pictures.
