LOS ANGELES, CA (April 24, 2018) – Lifetime’s new straight-to-series scripted show American Princess from Jenji Kohan, Jamie Denbo, and Tara Herrmann, has found its leading wench-in-waiting! Georgia Flood (Anzac Girls, Wentworth Prison) joins the Lifetime series about a socialite who runs off to join a Renaissance Faire after her wedding goes awry. Lucas Neff (Raising Hope, Fear Inc., Downward Dog), Seana Kofoed (Men in Trees, Flaked), Rory O’Malley (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Hamilton) and Mary Hollis Inboden (The Real O’Neals, Here And Now) round out the series cast. Produced by A+E Studios in association with Global Road Entertainment, ten one-hour episodes have been greenlit for production this summer in Los Angeles.

American Princess centers on Amanda (Flood), an Upper East Side socialite who runs away from her own dream wedding when she realizes that the life she thought she wanted, wasn’t actually right after all. When she stumbles upon a Renaissance Faire, she experiences an unexpected awakening, leading her to leave everything she thought she cared about behind. While at the Faire, Amanda quickly develops new friendships, rivalries and romance that opens her eyes to new beginnings.

Neff stars as ‘David,’ a Ren Faire actor who goes by the name “Pizzle Humpsalot,” performing Shakespearean parodies in the mud; Kofoed plays ‘Maggie,’ the venerable Queen Elizabeth at the Faire; Inboden will play the role of ‘Delilah,’ a free-spirited washer wench who befriends Amanda; and O’Malley stars as ‘Brian,’ the Faire’s much-revered Shakespeare.

American Princess is an A+E Studios production in association with Global Road Entertainment and is created, written and executive produced by Denbo (Ronna & Beverly). Kohan (Orange is the New Black, Weeds, GLOW), Herrmann (Orange is the New Black, GLOW) and Mark Burley (Orange is the New Black, GLOW) also executive produce.
