In a press release, HBO announced Notes from the Field, the adaptation of Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Anna Deavere Smith’s acclaimed one-woman show of the same name, will debut SATURDAY, FEB. 24 on HBO.
This film adaptation of Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Anna Deavere Smith’s acclaimed one-woman show dramatizes a vast array of accounts including students, parents, teachers and administrators caught in America’s school-to-prison pipeline as well as activists and their responses to recent high profile police tragedies.
Drawn from interviews with more than 200 people living and working within a challenged system, Notes From the Field shines a light on a generation of American youth being pushed into incarceration through Anna Deavere Smith’s stimulating mastery of diverse real-life characters.
