“You can’t kill me…you need me alive.” — Artie
“The Ones You Love” raises the stakes in the artifacts game when families are being threatened. Myka must go to her pregnant sister Tracy (guest star Amy Acker) in Colorado Springs, but finding the artifact that’s affecting her is easier said than done. I loved watching Kelly and Acker fight like real siblings. The cattiness was spot on. It even gets physical when Tracy attacks Myka with a knife. How are you going to beat up your pregnant sister? You can’t right? Not unless you’re a highly trained Secret Service Agent who knows how to handle herself. The fight scenes were excellently choreographed and very fun to watch. What? Who doesn’t like a good sister fight?
Mrs. Frederic seems supernatural at times. One minute she’s standing in front of you then in the blink of an eye, she’s across the room. I know Jinks was thinking the same thing when that inquisitive look flashed across his face. We know she’s been linked to the warehouse for a very long time…long enough to see her grandson move into a retirement home, but is that all there is to it? She’s immortal, so to speak?
As Mrs. Frederic and Jinks peruse the inner sanctum of the Vatican’s secret library, which was accessed by tapping certain bricks on the wall (can you say Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley?), more secrets are revealed about the mysterious Brotherhood of the Black Diamond. Perhaps the team was mistaken about Brother Adrian, especially when he reappears after being trapped inside a painting. If Brother Adrian is in Rome, then who is Artie talking to at the warehouse? And who sent the artifact to trap the brotherhood in the painting in the first place?
Can Mrs. Frederic find H.G. Wells (Jaime Murray) who’s keeping Magellan’s astrolabe for safe keeping? Will Mrs. Frederic use the astrolabe to bring Leena back? Next week is the mid-season finale and it looks like it’s going to be a doozy.
Tune in to Warehouse 13’s mid-season finale, Monday Oct 1st at 9/8c only on Syfy.
