I’ve been a fan of Drop Dead Diva (DDD) since its inception. As a matter of fact, I interviewed creator and executive producer Josh Berman during its first season when I was an Admin/Writer at another media site. He was so excited about bringing the tale of a beautiful, yet shallow, model named Deb who dies and is resurrected in the body of an overweight, brilliant attorney named Jane to TV. No one in the industry had ever done a series focusing on a full-figured female character. And what a success Drop Dead Diva turned out to be, despite being cancelled at the end of the fourth season and then renewed for a fifth.
Now, here we are, on the cusp of Drop Dead Diva’s sixth and final season, which begins with a two-hour event on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 9:00 pm ET/PT, only on Lifetime. I can’t wait to see what Berman has in store for our beloved Jane/Deb; Teri (Margaret Cho), Jane’s rock and legal assistant; Grayson (Jackson Hurst), dead Deb’s fiancé and now Jane’s co-worker; Stacy (April Bowlby), Jane’s very best friend and roomie; Kim Kaswell (Kate Levering), Jane’s boss who is now preparing for motherhood; Owen (Lex Medlin), Jane’s ex-fiancé; and last, but certainly not least, Paul (Justin Deeley), Jane’s guardian angel.

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 13, 2014) – All will finally be revealed in the final season of Lifetime’s critically-acclaimed hit series Drop Dead Diva(#DropDeadDiva), premiering Sunday, March 23, at 9pm ET/PT with a special two-hour premiere. At the close of last season, Jane (Elliott) thought she would finally have her happy ending with Grayson (Hurst), until Brittany (Old Jane) revealed to Grayson that Jane isn’t who he thinks she is. In the season six premiere, Jane is forced to finally tell the truth to Grayson, but his reaction leaves her more lost than ever. Meanwhile Owen gets a visit from his estranged brother, Charlie (Egglesfield), that puts his personal life and the firm at risk. As Jane buries herself in work once again to hide from the problems in her life, she discovers her new pro bono case has high stakes with the U.S. government. With Kim (Levering) on maternity leave, a new lawyer, Belinda (Williams) joins the firm and gives Jane a run for her money.
