As my one day excursion at San Diego Comic Con 2013 wound down, I sat in my last press room of the day eagerly anticipating my chat with the cast of one of my favorite shows, Grimm. NBC press rooms run a bit differently than others. The publicists really seem to be on their A game and really do mean it when they say, “Wrap it up.” While we got more than three minutes with some actors, others were whisked away before they could finish answering questions. And despite the seemingly quick rotations, I wasn’t able to get interviews with the female cast members Bitsie Tulloch (Juliette Silverton), Claire Coffee (Adalind Schade), and Bree Turner (Rosalee Calvert).

Nevertheless, I got all the guys (this is me, grinning ear to ear).

First up was Sasha Roiz. I admit; I’ve got a big crush on him. And he really evaded my questions which made me giddy! Second was David Giuntoli. After thanking another journalist at the roundtable for a gift of chapstick, Giuntoli  spoke excitedly about the third season of Grimm. I mentioned to him that Reggie Lee’s character, Sgt. Wu, should rescue him. He thought Wu could go in Indiana Jones style but I told him my thoughts were more in line with Data from The Goonies. Not because both Lee and I are Asians, but I think it’s befitting of Wu’s character. The third star up is the subject of the previous sentence, Reggie Lee. I really enjoyed speaking with him as Sgt. Wu is my favorite human on the show. With so many Wesen and other supernatural beings inhabiting Portland, Wu is the only one still in the dark about Nick’s true nature.

My fourth interview was with Silas Weir Mitchell. I really do love his character, Monroe. I hope to see more of Monroe and Rosalee as their relationship continues to blossom, but I’m really ready for Monroe to shake off the notion that transforming into a Blutbad is a bad thing. Monroe using his true nature for good is fantastic and exciting to watch. And finally there was Russell Hornsby. He cracked me up with his antics about Hank taking on a new persona with “…a longer coat, a longer gun…” and kicking some butt in the third season.

Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
