Oh, Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried). You’re on a downward spiral, with no love in your heart, while Bo (Anna Silk) is finding her fun with Ryan (Anthony Lemke), and Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) has hooked up with childhood crush Nate (Aaron Ashmore). Wolfing out and roughing up a suspect’s father is not going to make you feel better. So have a drink or three, and call it a day. You probably won’t feel all that great, but you’ll get to drown your sorrows even if only for a night.

Check, Please! Review: Lost Girl - "Table for Fae" 1

Ryan and Bo having a moment

Ryan is proving himself quite the naughty Fae though he’s only being true to his Loki Fae nature. He’s clearly enamored with Bo but I can’t help but wonder if there’s something else up his sleeve. First, he goes all out by taking Bo, Kenzi and Nate to a fancy restaurant where they partake in … tripe? Does Ryan seriously think humans like tripe? (I myself love tripe in menudo and tacos, but it’s not what you’d consider a mainstream sort of food.)  Poor Kenzi gags (“It tastes like something crawled in the food and died”). Moreover, is tripe considered a delicacy in high-end restaurants? What’s wrong with ordering lobster rolls?

Second, Ryan sets up aspiring musician Nate with The Morrigan (Emmanuelle Vaugier) so she can help him achieve fame. But Kenzi knows she “enslaves” people to do her bidding in exchange for helping them get their heart’s desire. Trouble is, Kenzi’s now indebted to The Morrigan. I don’t blame Kenzi for being so protective but making such a deal with The Morrigan is not a wise move. Thinking with your heart and not your head isn’t something she can afford to do with any Fae. She’s only human, after all. Kenzi will learn this soon enough. Can you see heartbreak on the horizon? I’m almost sure Ryan did this knowingly, and doesn’t seem keen on relating all that well with humans.

Kenzi ponders the choice she’s made

Third, OK, the girl-on-girl action was sexy hot, but what was Ryan trying to tell Bo when he brought the hot blonde hostess home? The hostess had had her eye on Bo at the restaurant, yes, but I doubt Bo would’ve thought of her twice if Ryan hadn’t brought her home. Her hunger is being satiated by Ryan so does she go along just to appease him? I mean, she looks confused when she sees the hostess and the erotic scene almost felt gratuitous. Or maybe it was just an excuse for Ryan to indulge himself. This is not to deny Bo’s Succubus nature, but I think I’ll go with the latter.

I’ve got my eye on Ryan. I know something’s coming, and it probably won’t be good. And I’m not talking about the “big” thing that’s threatening all Fae—I mean, something big involving Ryan.

So, the Fae of this week doesn’t seem all that interesting. The Serket gives the gift of youth to their high-end clientele, only what’s happening to young backpackers is, they’re getting their youth sucked out of them. Now that Ryan is with Bo, she brings him along with her to investigate. This is when they have their first fight (After just a week? This doesn’t bode well.); Bo doesn’t understand why he didn’t turn in the Serket. Obviously, she forgets he’s Dark Fae and she’s nonaligned, which is what he loves about her: “You can choose Light or Dark whenever it suits you. Which I think is pretty awesome, by the way.” Nothing’s black and white, especially where the Dark and Light Fae are concerned. Maybe Bo should heed Ryan’s suggestion and hang out with the Dark Fae more. Isn’t she being elitist by being all buddy-buddy with the Light?

Now that Kenzi is inextricably tied to The Morrigan, what crazy favor will be asked of her? I think it’s going to be a sacrifice. Maybe she’ll be a slave to the Dark Fae. Any way you slice it, The Morrigan is going to ask a majorly juicy favor!
