Syfy Greenlights 12 MONKEYS to Series With 12 Episode Order
Syfy is giving a series greenlight to 12 Monkeys, a drama based on the 1995 Universal Pictures film directed by Terry Gilliam, it was announced today by Syfy President, Dave Howe. Syfy is ordering 12 episodes in addition to the pilot which was filmed last year. The series is produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original theatrical.

Casting News: DB Woodside and Brendan Hines to Join the Cast of SUITS
We haven’t even seen the season three finale of Suits yet and USA Network has already announced the addition of two new cast mates as recurring guest stars, DB Woodside and Brendan Hines, for the show’s fourth season. With the season finale airing April 10 at 9/8c on USA, production for season four begins just a few days from now, April 7, in Toronto, ON and Suits will return to our TV screens this summer.

TV News: Homeland To Begin Production for Season 4 in South Africa
With the death of Sgt. Brody (Damian Lewis) last season, and Carrie (Claire Danes) pregnant with his child, I have been anxiously awaiting the return of Homeland, Showtime’s award-winning drama series. I’ll have to wait a little longer as according to Showtime’s official press release release (below), Homeland will be shooting from mid-June through November this year, with a premiere date sometime this fall.

Chiller Launches KILLER SHORTS Film Contest
In keeping with its tradition of fostering up-and-coming creative talent in horror movie-making, Chiller has begun the search for the next horror film maven with its newly-launched “Killer Shorts” contest. Aimed at collegiate-level filmmaking talent at schools across the United States, the contest invites submissions of 2-3 minute short horror films from aspiring directors.

TV News: FX Network Orders THE COMEDIANS Starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad
FX has ordered 13 episodes of the comedy series The Comedians, starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad. In The Comedians, Crystal plays a superstar veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with Gad, an edgier up-and-coming star, in an unfiltered, behind-the-scenes look at a late night sketch comedy show where egos and generations collide.

TV News: Syfy Greenlights 6-Hour Event Series ASCENSION
Syfy is reigniting the channel’s traditional long-form scripted programming event for 4th quarter with the greenlight of the 6-hour series Ascension. “In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, a mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.”

TV News: Lifetime Captures Chilling True Story Of the Happy Face Killer
David Arquette (Scream) and Gloria Reuben (Lincoln) star in the Lifetime Original Movie Happy Face Killer, premiering Saturday, March 1, at 8pm ET/PT. TV News: Syfy’s OPPOSITE WORLDS Gets A Host – Luke Tipple
Syfy today announced that Luke Tipple (Capture) will host Opposite Worlds, an all-new reality competition series and social experiment produced by Eyeworks USA. Set to premiere January 21, Opposite Worlds will run for 12 episodes over six weeks (two episodes per week), with a live episode every Wednesday night (a first for a Syfy reality series).
