Casting News: AMERICAN GODS Adds More Deities with Orlando Jones Cast As Mr. Nancy and Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis
Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) announced that Orlando Jones (“Madiba,” “Sleepy Hollow”) will play Mr. Nancy, the old African trickster god more commonly known as Anansi, and one of Mr. Wednesday’s (Ian McShane) oldest confidantes. Like Wednesday, Nancy is ready to bring this new America (and its new gods) to its knees, desperate to light a fire and watch the whole world burn. Demore Barnes (“12 Monkeys”) has also been added to the cast as Mr. Ibis, the keeper of stories, past and present, and he recounts them with great relish. His old fashioned sensibilities do not preclude a wry wit.

TV News: Showtime’s MASTERS OF SEX Adds Niecy Nash and Betty Gilpin For Fourth Season Major Story Arcs
Niecy Nash and Betty Gilpin will be guest stars on the fourth season of Showtime Networks’ critically acclaimed drama series MASTERS OF SEX. Nash, who will appear in a multi-episode arc, plays Louise Bell, a local AA – chairperson running Masters’ (Michael Sheen) court-ordered daily meetings. She fervently believes in AA’s message, and uses it to push Masters to reevaluate his life. Gilpin, who will also appear in a multi-episode arc, will play Nancy, a former medical student of Barton’s (Beau Bridges), who partners with Masters adding a second MD to the practice. Production on season four recently began in Los Angeles.

A half-hour comedy executive produced by Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx and Tom Kapinos, WHITE FAMOUS will be written by Kapinos, based on an idea by Jamie Foxx, who will guest star in a recurring role. TV News: Showtime Orders Limited Series PURITY Starring Daniel Craig
SHOWTIME announced the pick-up of the new limited series PURITY, based on the novel of the same name from best-selling author Jonathan Franzen, and starring and executive produced by internationally-acclaimed actor Daniel Craig. Todd Field (Little Children, In the Bedroom) will write, direct and executive produce, along with executive producers Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, David Hare and Jonathan Franzen. Hare and Franzen will also serve as writers on the series. Field will direct every episode. PURITY will be a 20-episode limited series set to air over the course of two years on SHOWTIME. Production will begin in 2017.

TV News: FARGO Season Two Marathon Begins June 4 At 10AM E/P With Limited Commercial Interruption
FX will air the acclaimed second installment of FX’s limited series Fargo in its entirety on Saturday, June 4. The marathon featuring all 10 episodes in consecutive order will run from 10 AM ET/PT to 8 PM ET/PT and be presented with limited commercial interruption. SHOWTIME will once again team up with acclaimed filmmakers R.J. Cutler (The September Issue, The World According to Dick Cheney) and John Battsek (Searching For Sugar Man, The Tillman Story) on a feature-length documentary about the extraordinary life and times of comic legend John Belushi. News: Jake Lacy Joins Showtime’s New Comedy, I’m Dying Up Here
Film and television star Jake Lacy has joined the ensemble cast of the new SHOWTIME one-hour comedy series I’M DYING UP HERE in a series regular role. Lacy will play a stand-up comic who gained some notoriety a few years back by blowing off The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on the night he was scheduled to appear. His issues with substance abuse and family tragedy inform his comedy as he tries to re-acclimate into the early ’70s L.A. comedy scene.
