News: Amazon Original Move LOVE & FRIENDSHIP Premieres Oct. 20 on Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Studios announced that the Amazon Original Movie Love & Friendship will be available through Amazon Prime Video at no additional cost to Prime members on October 20. The acclaimed film based on a novella by Jane Austen is written and directed by Whit Stillman (Metropolitan, The Last Days of Disco), stars Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Pearl Harbor), Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, Big Love), Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Fury), Emma Greenwell (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Shameless) and Tom Bennett (Mascots, PhoneShop), and produced by Katie Holly (Citadel, Shrooms) and Lauranne Bourrachot (A Prophet, Sleepless Night), and co-produced by Raymond van der Kaaij (They Have Escaped, 22nd of May) and Marco Cherqui (A Prophet, Sleepless Night).

Throughout the month of October, FOX airs all-new Halloween-themed programming. Kicking off the celebration is THE SIMPSONS, which airs its milestone 600th episode, “Treehouse of Horror XXVII,” on Sunday, Oct. 16 (8:00-8:31 PM ET/PT). Casting News: AMC’s Anthology Series THE TERROR Adds Jared Harris, Ciaran Hinds, Paul Ready, Adam Nagaitis
AMC announced that Jared Harris (Mad Men, The Crown) has been cast as the lead actor in the networks’ anthology drama series, The Terror, an adaption of the bestselling novel by Dan Simmons. David Kajganich (True Story, A Bigger Splash) and Soo Hugh (The Whispers, The Killing) are serving as executive producers, writers and co-showrunners with Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 producing the series in association with AMC Studios. Production begins this winter in Budapest with the 10 one-hour episodes, set to premiere in 2017.
The Terror is set in 1847, when a Royal Naval expedition crew searching for the Northwest Passage is attacked by a mysterious predator that stalks the ships and their crew in a suspenseful and desperate game of survival.

UCP will Collaborate with Vermilion Entertainment and 1492 Pictures/Ocean Blue Entertainment to Re-Imagine Classic Hitchcock Tales in “Welcome To Hitchcock.” Master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock once said, “Always make the audience suffer as much as possible.” In that vein, Universal Cable Productions (UCP) has inked a deal with the Alfred Hitchcock Estate to develop “Welcome to Hitchcock,” an inspired take on the master filmmaker’s unique brand of storytelling that encompassed such iconic stories as THE BIRDS, PSYCHO and the popular television series Hitchcock Presents.

TV News: Discovery Channel Acquires Rights To SACRED COD Documentary To Air in 2017
Discovery Channel announced the purchase of global rights of the revealing documentary SACRED COD. The film will make its world premiere at the 2016 Camden International Film Festival and debut on Discovery in 2017 under the Discovery Impact banner.
An official selection of the 2016 Camden Film Festival, SACRED COD chronicles the collapse of the historic cod fishery in the waters off New England in the United States. Scientists and environmental advocates have attributed the collapse to overfishing, climate change, and government mismanagement. Many of the fishermen — who are losing their livelihoods and way of life as the species have declined — have argued that the science is wrong and have protested government policies that have banned them in recent years from fishing for cod.
