News: Amazon Studios Greenlights Comedic Apocalyptic Series GOOD OMENS
Amazon Studios announced it has greenlit Good Omens, an hour-long limited comedy series based on Neil Gaiman’s (American Gods) and Terry Pratchett’s (Colour of Magic) acclaimed novel of the same name. Set to debut in 2018 on Prime Video, Good Omens is a six part series that has been entirely written by Gaiman, who will also serve as Showrunner.

TV News: HBO’s Untitled Muhammad Ali Documentary Begins Production
A multi-part documentary about the life and career of Muhammad Ali from LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment and Antoine Fuqua’s Fuqua Films has started production and will debut on HBO. Directed by acclaimed feature-film director Antoine Fuqua, the documentary will explore Ali’s greatest triumphs and comebacks, painting an intimate portrait of a man who, against all odds, dreamed and achieved the impossible, over and over again.

TV News: Fox Commits to Pilot Production For Chilly New Comedy THIN ICE
THIN ICE, written by Meriwether, Ed Macdonald and Mark Grimmer, and executive produced by Meriwether and Katherine Pope, centers on a woman who reclaims her dreams when she finds herself at the end of the earth – in Antarctica – surrounded by a group of brilliant misfits. The project will be produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television in early 2017.

TV News: UCP and Paramount Television Adapt STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND For Syfy
Paramount Television in partnership with Universal Cable Productions (UCP), a division of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, announced plans to develop Robert Heinlein’s popular 1961 science fiction novel “Stranger in a Strange Land” as a TV series for Syfy. Considered a staple in many science fiction fans’ libraries, “Stranger in a Strange Land” tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, a human who comes to Earth in early adulthood after being born on the planet Mars and raised by Martians. The novel explores his interaction with—and eventual transformation of—terrestrial culture. It predicted many of the movements and messages of the 1960’s – from free love and hippie communes, to organized attempts at world peace.

TV News: AMC’s FEAR FEST 20 Offers 19 Days of Horror October 13-31
To mark the 20th anniversary of AMC FearFest, one of TV’s longest-running annual thematic programming celebrations, the network will offer the largest collection of horror and genre film titles in its history. AMC FearFest, which provided a launching pad for “The Walking Dead” when the show premiered in 2010, this year will feature more than 400 hours of horror and genre programming, including a full 88-hour six-season catch-up marathon of every episode of “The Walking Dead,” an all-new two-hour retrospective special and the highly anticipated season seven premiere on October 23. AMC Fearfest runs on AMC for 19 days, from Thursday, October 13 through Halloween night on October 31.
