News: Sarah Wayne Callies, Shawn Doyle, and More Confirmed For Sundance TV/CBC Miniseries Unspeakable.
CBC and SundanceTV announced casting for the dramatic eight-part miniseries UNSPEAKABLE, which chronicles the tainted blood scandal beginning in the 1980’s. Acclaimed actors Sarah Wayne Callies (Colony, The Walking Dead), Shawn Doyle (Bellevue, Big Love), Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1, Saving Hope) and Camille Sullivan (The Disappearance, The Man in the High Castle) will lead the series. Production on UNSPEAKABLE begins spring 2018 in Vancouver, BC, for broadcast on CBC in Canada and SundanceTV in the U.S.

Lore explores the real-life frightening and disturbing tales that give rise to modern-day myths and legends. The hybrid series will continue to feature narration, archive footage and animation to complement the filmed segments.

American Masters Pictures and Submarine Entertainment are pleased to present the 2018 SXSW Film Festival world premiere of GARRY WINOGRAND: ALL THINGS ARE PHOTOGRAPHABLE, a documentary portrait of American photographer Garry Winogrand, widely considered to be one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century. Directed by Sasha Waters Freyer, the film will receive its first screening on Monday, March 12 as part of the festival’s Documentary Feature Competition.

News: HBO Announces Finalists of HBO Asian Pacific American Visionaries Short Film Competition.
HBO announced the three finalists of HBO Asian Pacific American Visionaries, a short film competition that provides emerging directors of Asian and/or Pacific Islander descent the opportunity to showcase their work. Filmmakers Maritte Go (“Remittance”), Huay-Bing Law (“June”), and Feng-I Fiona Roan (“Jiejie”) will have their shorts premiere at the 2018 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May; where the first, second and third place winners will be announced. HBO will debut the trio of films during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May.

News: Freeform Orders Original Comedy Girls Code Pilot from Paul Feig.
Freeform announced a pilot order for the tentatively titled “Girls Code,” a half-hour women-in-the-workplace comedy from Emmy-nominated executive producer and director Paul Feig (“Freaks and Geeks,” “Spy,” “Ghostbusters,” “Bridesmaids”) and written and created by Kim Rosenstock. From Paramount Television, Anonymous Content and Feigco Entertainment, the pilot sets up the odd couple partnership between a brazen, self-centered tech CEO and a community-building social entrepreneur who must overcome their many issues with each other in order to co-run a groundbreaking, all-female tech incubator.

News: CBS All Access Announces Additional Casting for Strange Angel.
CBS All Access announced the additional cast members joining its upcoming original drama series, STRANGE ANGEL. The cast includes Peter Mark Kendall, Michael Gaston, Greg Wise, Rade Šerbedžija, Zack Pearlman and Keye Chen who join previously announced cast members Jack Reynor, Rupert Friend and Bella Heathcote. Production of the 1930s-set series began earlier this month on location across Los Angeles.
STRANGE ANGEL, based on George Pendle’s book of the same name, explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction, and is inspired by the real life story of Jack Parsons.
