News: Season 2 of HBO’s Drama The Deuce Returns Sept 9.
Chronicling the rise of pornography and the multibillion-dollar industry’s transformation of American culture, the critically acclaimed drama series THE DEUCE, created by George Pelecanos and David Simon, returns for its nine-episode second season SUNDAY, SEPT. 9 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. Resuming five years after the culmination of the first season, THE DEUCE returns to the world of 1977, capturing the Times Square area of midtown New York at its most garish and volatile. The drama stars James Franco (Golden Globe winner for “The Disaster Artist”) as both Vincent Martino, a successful manager of several mob-backed nightspots, and his twin brother, Frankie Martino, whose own business ventures are more fraught, and Maggie Gyllenhaal (Oscar® nominee for “Crazy Heart” and Golden Globe nominee for season one of “The Deuce”) as Candy, now a rising director of ambitious porn films.

News: Showtime Promotes Shamon Brown Jr., Michael Epps, and Barton Fitzpatrick To Series Regulars on Season 2 of The Chi.
Fan favorites Shamon Brown Jr. (Papa), Barton Fitzpatrick (Reg) and Michael Epps (Jake) have been upped from guest stars to series regulars for the highly anticipated second season of THE CHI. The hit SHOWTIME drama series is currently in production in Chicago and will return to the network in 2019. Produced entirely in its namesake city, THE CHI is a timely coming-of-age story centering on a group of residents who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption. The ensemble cast for season one includes Jason Mitchell (Mudbound, Straight Outta Compton), Jacob Latimore (Sleight), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (Queen of Katwe), Alex Hibbert (Moonlight), Yolonda Ross (Treme, The Get Down), Armando Riesco (Bull) and Tiffany Boone (The Following). Kevin (Hibbert) is the pre-teen who must step past shattered illusions and embrace the normal rites of childhood, while Brandon (Mitchell) the dreamer makes his own nearly impossible leap of faith to succeed in life and love with girlfriend Jerrika (Boone).

FOX and National Geographic released a first look at the highly anticipated return of the Emmy Award-winning worldwide phenomenon COSMOS. Executive producer/writer/director Ann Druyan, and executive producers Seth MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, and Jason Clark, along with series host, famed pop-culture icon astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, were all on hand to share the sneak peek during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. COSMOS: POSSIBLE WORLDS is set to premiere on FOX and National Geographic in March 2019.

Emmy® Award-winning executive producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley revealed the first photo of the iconic character Kim Possible, brought to life by actress Sadie Stanley in the upcoming live-action Disney Chanel Original Movie “Kim Possible.” Set to debut in 2019, the movie is based on the global-hit animated series about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains. Sean Giambrone (ABC’s “The Goldbergs”) stars as Kim Possible’s loyal best friend, Ron Stoppable.

News: Freeform Adds The Truth About Christmas Starring Kali Hawk, Damon Dayoub, and Ali Ghandour to <25 Days of Christmas Programming.
Freeform announced that production began Monday on their third original holiday film, “The Truth About Christmas,” from MarVista Entertainment. The movie will premiere during Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas” annual programming event. Kali Hawk (“New Girl”) stars as Jillian, a successful political consultant, confident in her ability to put a spin on anything whose next big project is the upcoming mayoral campaign for her boyfriend, George (Damon Dayoub, Freeform’s “Stitchers”). On the way to meet George’s family for the first time during the holidays, an unusual confrontation with a toy store Santa results in a drastic change in Jillian where she can’t stop herself from wildly spilling the truth.

Joining from SPLIT are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.

News: Science Channel Announces Full Cast of MythBusters Jr.
Original MythBuster Adam Savage returns to his roots as host and executive producer of MythBusters Jr., a new series that will give six of the nation’s most talented kids a chance to show off their amazing ingenuity and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) skills. The 10-episode series will debut on Science Channel in the 4th quarter of 2018.

News: Shelley Conn and James D’Arcy Join Cast of Starz Supernatural Spy Thriller The Rook Airing in U.S. In 2019.
Shelley Conn (“Liar,” Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) will portray Danielle Wulff and James D’Arcy (Dunkirk, “Homeland,” “Broadchurch”) will play Dr. Andrew Bristol in the forthcoming STARZ Original Series “The Rook.” A supernatural spy thriller, “The Rook” tells the story of Myfanwy Thomas, a woman who wakes up in London with no memory of who she is and no way to explain the circle of dead bodies around her. The epic robot-fighting series BattleBots returns with even higher stakes for the second half of its 2018 season as momentum builds towards the 2018 World Championship and the awarding of the Giant Nut to the ultimate BattleBots Champion.
