News: FX Renews MAYANS M.C. For Second Season
Mayans M.C., the hit biker drama created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has been renewed for a second season on FX. Set in a post-Jax Teller world, Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) is fresh out of prison and a prospect in the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now, EZ must carve out his new identity in a town where he was once the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp.

News: Season 3 of Science Channel’s Mysteries of the Abandoned Premieres Oct 2
The vast, decaying remains of 200 buildings are sprawled across almost 2,000 acres of land deep in the heart of Georgia. It is the remnants of the Central State Hospital, once the largest psychiatric hospital in the U.S., which in the 1960’s was home to over 12,000 patients. These and other long forgotten structures will be deconstructed and rebuilt with advanced CGI in season three of MYSTERIES OF THE ABANDONED, which begins Tuesday, October 2 at 9 p.m. on Science Channel.

News: Four-Part Series Star Trek: Short Treks Premieres on CBS All Access Oct 4
STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS, four stand-alone short stories, will begin rolling out on Thursday, Oct. 4, in anticipation of the early 2019 return of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. Each short will run approximately 10-15 minutes and will be an opportunity for fans to dive deeper into key themes and characters that fit into STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the expanding “Star Trek” universe. Each of the STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS four stories will center on a key character, including familiar faces from STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Mary Wiseman (Tilly), Doug Jones (Saru) and Rainn Wilson (Harry Mudd), in a short he will also direct, as well as a new character unfamiliar to fans, Craft, played by Aldis Hodge.

News: Freeform’s Grown-ish Begins Production on Season 2, Premiering in Jan 2019
Freeform announced the start of production on season two of the critically acclaimed comedy series “grown-ish,” set to debut in January 2019. Reprising their roles after a stellar freshman season are Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Trevor Jackson as Aaron Jackson, Francia Raisa as Ana Torres, Emily Arlook as Nomi Segal, Jordan Buhat as Vivek Shah and Deon Cole as “Professor Charles Telphy.” Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey, real-life sisters who starred as twins and the sporty-savants Jazz Forster and Sky Forster, have been upped to series regulars. Luka Sabbat also returns as a series regular for season two portraying Luca Hall, a mellow and fashion-forward classmate of Zoey’s. And reprising his role as Doug is musical artist, rapper and actor Diggy Simmons in a recurring role for season two.

News: Zachary Quinto and Ashleigh Cummings Cast to Lead AMC’s New Supernatural Horror Series NOS4A2 (wt) Premiering in 2019
AMC has cast Emmy®-nominated actor and producer Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek,” “American Horror Story”) and rising star Ashleigh Cummings (“The Goldfinch,” “Hounds of Love”) in the lead roles for its new supernatural horror series “NOS4A2” (working title). The network also announced Emmy®-nominated director Kari Skogland (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Sons of Liberty”) will direct the first two episodes of the series based on Joe Hill’s bestselling novel of the same name. Production began this week in Rhode Island. The 10 one-hour episodes are slated to premiere in 2019.
