News: Freeform Puts Stephen King’s JOYLAND Into Development
Freeform announced that it has put into development “Joyland,” a series based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. “Joyland” tells the story of Devin, a college student who takes a summer job at an amusement park in a North Carolina tourist town, confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child and the way both will change his life forever.

Telling tales of the characters who pass through a single room of a typical American chain motel, the anthology series ROOM 104 begins its 12-episode second season FRIDAY, NOV. 9 (11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET/PT), debuting two episodes back-to-back, followed by two new episodes subsequent Fridays at the same time, exclusively on HBO. From creators and executive producers Mark and Jay Duplass, the show tells a different story of the assorted characters who stay in the room in each episode, ranging from dark comedy and horror to poignant drama and musical romance.

News: Fox Orders Animated Comedy Duncanville From Amy Poehler and Mike & Julie Scully To Premiere In 2019-20 Season
FOX has ordered the animated family comedy DUNCANVILLE, from Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation,” “Saturday Night Live”) and Mike and Julie Scully (THE SIMPSONS, “The Carmichael Show”), all of whom are co-creators and executive producers on the series. Written by Mike and Julie Scully, DUNCANVILLE will feature the voices of Poehler, who will star as two characters, Emmy Award nominee Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation,” “Angie Tribeca”) and Golden Globe nominee Wiz Khalifa (“American Dad!,” “BoJack Horseman”). Thirteen episodes have been ordered, and the series is set to premiere during the 2019-2020 season.

Hulu announced Jessica Williams (2 Dope Queens), Nikesh Patel (Indian Summers), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Into the Dark: The Body) and John Reynolds (Search Party) have been cast in Hulu’s upcoming original limited romantic comedy series FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL. Jessica Williams has been cast as “Jess,” Nikesh Patel has been cast as “Kash,” Rebecca Rittenhouse has been cast as “Ainsley” and John Reynolds has been cast as “Duffy.” The series is inspired by the 1994 film of the same name. FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL pilot script is written by Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton.
