Starz Picks Up Yvette Lee Bowser Comedy Pilot Run the World
Starz has given an eight-episode series order for “Run the World.” The half-hour comedy is created and written by Leigh Davenport who will executive produce with showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser and Lionsgate Television. “Run the World” is the story of a group of Black, vibrant, fiercely loyal best friends who work, live and play in Harlem as they strive for world domination.

Fox Renews Beat Shazam For Season 4, Jamie Foxx Returns as Host
FOX has renewed interactive music game show BEAT SHAZAM for season 4. Jamie Foxx will return as host and executive producer, along with executive producers Mark Burnett, Jeff Apploff, Barry Poznick and Lauren Zalaznick. Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jamie Foxx, also will return as deejay.

Apple Lands Beastie Boys Story Documentary From Spike Jonze, In Select Theaters April 3, Apple TV+ April 24
Apple has acquired “Beastie Boys Story,” a new nonfiction film from Grammy Award-winning Beastie Boys members Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz and Academy Award-winning director Spike Jonze. A special cut of the documentary feature will open exclusively in select IMAX Theatres for a limited engagement April 3, before premiering globally on Apple TV+ on April 24.
