Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E11 - "A Very Jersey Christmas" 1

Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa’s here, giving out presents to all the little girls and boys. Big girls and boys too – well some of them, that is. But before I get ahead of myself …

Review: Franklin & Bash, S1, E9 - "Bachelor Party" 2

Two very interesting cases this week, both with sexual undertones. At this point in the season, do I expect anything different? No. Am I happy? Yes. I love me some Franklin & Bash!

Review: Rescue Me, S7, E3 – “Press”

Review: Rescue Me, S7, E3 - "Press" 3

Has Tommy (Denis Leary) lost his mind? He purposefully drives his car through the Verbatim store window after seeing a display of books on the 9/11 tragedy in one window, and a “Where Were You Then” memorial, complete with pictures of his fallen brethren, including his brother Jimmy, in another. He then pours a bottle of liquor on the books and lights them on fire. WTF? With this extremely powerful opening to “Press,” I’m glued to my television as usual, in anticipation of what will happen next.

News: Franklin & Bash Returns to the Bench for a Second Season 4

I’m over the moon! Franklin & Bash will be back for a second season and I’m thrilled beyond belief to report this news as I truly love the show. As a matter of fact, I praise Franklin & Bash each week in my reviews on this site. In my review of the pilot, I wrote, “There are hot tubs, parties, quirky dialogue, lots of T&A, and my favorite part – Gosselaar’s naked butt. I’d watch the show just for that!…It’s all just a lot of good lighthearted, campy fun with some mildly serious undertones.” If you haven’t been watching the show, start now folks. You’ll be missing out on a great show if you don’t.

Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E10 - "There Arose Such a Clatter" 5

Wow, these New Jersey housewives really know how to celebrate Christmas. First, it was Christmas at Jacqueline’s, then at Melissa’s. Now, it’s Christmas at the Manzos, and at Teresa’s. And it’s not even Christmas Day yet! At the conclusion of last week’s episode, “Twas the Fight Before Christmas,” Melissa and Joey politely asked Monica Chacon to leave, which she did. This week, we pick up right where we left off.

Review: Franklin & Bash, S1, E8 - Bangover 6

Poor Jared (Breckin Meyer) and Peter (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). Why can’t they find a temp who looks like her? Who’s her, you ask? Lily (Anabella Casanova), Stanton Infeld’s (Malcolm McDowell) beautiful niece. Immediately, you can see a connection between Lily and Peter, but Stanton warns him to stay away. You know that’s not going to happen, don’t you?

Review: Rescue Me, S7, E2 - "Menses" (Payback's a bitch, baby!) 7

I feel sorry for Tommy Gavin (Denis Leary). After a lifetime of always being in control, calling the shots, the women in his life have taken over and he’s been reduced to doing their bidding. Payback’s a bitch, baby!

OMG, so much happens in “Twas the Fight Before Christmas,” I don’t know where to begin! There’s Ashley’s birthday party, everyone is decorating for the holidays, and of course, there’s the Gorja holiday party. Ok, I’ll start at the beginning.

Review: Franklin & Bash, S1, E7 - "Franklin vs. Bash" 9

If I haven’t said it before, I’ll say it now – I. Love. This. Show! Sure, it tends to be campy and silly at times, but it’s charming and never fails to make me laugh. And if that isn’t a recipe for good entertainment, I don’t know what is.

Advance Review: Rescue Me, Season 7 Premiere – “Mutha”

Advance Review: Rescue Me, Season 7 Premiere - "Mutha" 10

The writing is, and has always been, brilliant. That’s quite a feat considering the majority of episodes have been written by only three people (Leary, co-creator Peter Tolan, and Evan Reilly). There’s been a fair share of drama, laughter, tragedies and triumphs, which will undoubtedly continue throughout Rescue Me’s final season. It’s interesting to note that with 9/11 playing such a huge role in the show, Leary and Tolan have arranged for the final episode to run on September 7th to coincide with the week of the tenth anniversary of that terrible tragedy. I think it’s a fitting ending.

Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E8 - "Holidazed and Confused" 11

“Holidazed and Confused” is a rather tame episode, at least by The Real Housewives of New Jersey standard. In fact, there’s no real drama at all; something I haven’t seen in a very long time!

Movie Review: “Last Night” Disappoints

Movie Review: "Last Night" Disappoints 12

“Last Night” is more of a thinking man’s movie. Still, it goes nowhere and lacks in many aspects. For a movie based on sex, seduction and infidelity, there are few sexual scenes. And even those are mediocre and uneventful. I expected more. All in all, “Last Night” disappoints. As a movie with entertainment value, it falls flat. At least for me.

Southfork, here we come! Yes, it’s true! “Dallas” lives again, thanks to TNT who will be running an all-new series based on the long-running (1978-1991) series of the same name. That show highlighted the bitter rivalries and family power struggles within a Texas oil and cattle-ranching dynasty. News: TNT Gives "Falling Skies" A Second Season 17

I knew it wouldn’t be long before Falling Skies would get the green light for a second season, and I wasn’t wrong. With only four episodes in, TNT has already renewed this epic show. For a series with such superb writing, that is so compelling, thought provoking, gripping, action-packed, and just good drama from the people who know drama, I doubt anyone is surprised by this news.

Audio Interview and Set Visit: My Adventure with the Fabulous "Sunny" Boys 18

On June 23, 2011, I was fortunate enough to visit the set of FX’s original comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” on behalf of YourEntertainmentCorner.com (YEC). Needless to say, this being my first ever set visit, I was nervous. I had no idea of what to expect, but Judy Manning, my friend, and partner here at YEC, had wonderful words of wisdom for me. “Your nerves will dissipate once you get there, but the best advice I can give you is to wear comfortable shoes.” I am so glad I listened to her!

Review: Franklin & Bash, S1, E5 - "You Can't Take it With You" 22

“Franklin & Bash” has to be one of the funniest series I’ve seen in a while. I mean, office chair curling? Yep, that’s how “You Can’t Take it With You” starts and the laughs never stop, despite the seriousness that goes on between Jared (Breckin Meyer) and his father, Leonard (guest star Beau Bridges).

Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E7 – “Teresa’s Got a Gun”

Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E7 - "Teresa's Got a Gun" 23

With all the drama of the first six episodes, it’s about time we have a little fun. “Teresa’s Got a Gun” is a much lighter, funnier episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” especially when the Giudices, Manzos, and Lauritas descend upon the Giudice cabin in the Catskills. But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Advance Review: Necessary Roughness, S1, E1 – “Pilot”

Advance Review: Necessary Roughness, S1, E1 - "Pilot" 24

Written by Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, and directed by Kevin Dowling, “Necessary Roughness” is filled with wry sarcasm, a decent amount of humor in contrast to the serious dramatic elements, sharp and witty dialogue, and is beautifully acted by all involved. USA has definitely scored a touchdown with another character-driven series, which so perfectly fits its brand.
