Spoiler Free Advance Review: The Americans – Pilot

Spoiler Free Advance Review: The Americans - Pilot 4

The Americans is compelling, intriguing, captivating, and exciting, with a bit of humor thrown in. If that’s not a recipe for success, I don’t know what is. The storylines are believable, the dialogue spot on, and the acting, for the most part, is impeccable. You would be wise to add this to your must-watch TV list.

Frank Stoops to New Lows. Retrospective: Shameless - "The American Dream" 7

While I found “El Gran Canon,” the season three premiere a bit slow, “The American Dream” certainly picks up the pace. So much happens in this one hour, I was absolutely glued to the screen. All of the characters had interesting storylines, and I’m anxious to see where they will go.

In case you missed the series premiere of FX’s outrageous new comedy, Legit, have I got a present for you! Right here, right now, you can see what everyone is talking about. Two Funerals and A Bombing. Retrospective: Homeland - "The Choice" 9

As season finales go, “The Choice” does a decent job of wrapping up this season and setting the tone for the next. And while the first half hour is a bit tedious, the last half hour makes up for it. I guess we’ll never know who the mole was but at this point, who cares?

It's a Sopranos/O.K. Corral Mashup! Review: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "The Gang Dines Out" 10

While Mac (Rob McElhenney) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton) are having their “monthly dinner” at Guigino’s, one of Philadelphia’s finer eating establishments, Charlie (Charlie Day) and Frank (Danny DeVito) walk in to celebrate their one-year anniversary of living together. What none of them realizes is Dee (Kaitlin Olson) is at a table of her own. What ensues as the four men try to outdo each other has me chuckling deep down to my very core.

A Video Game Takes Over at Paddy's. Retrospective: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "Charlie Rules the World" 15

Focusing on a topic that isn’t as laugh out loud funny as those in recent Sunny episodes, the show tackles online gaming, and how easy it is to succumb to the virtual world. That’s not to say “Charlie Rules the World” doesn’t have its moments, because it does. While Mac (Rob McElhenney), Frank (Danny DeVito), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Charlie (Charlie Day) are immersed in the game, “Techpocalypse,” Dennis tries to keep a foothold in real life.
