Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Review: The Big C, Season 2, Ep. 203 "Sexual Healing" 2

It seems everyone in the neighborhood related to Cathy is having intimacy issues. With the intense cancer treatments, Cathy doesn’t feel much like having sex with Paul; Adam’s girlfriend Mia doesn’t want to rush into things but Adam doesn’t want to hold back; And all Sean can seem to focus on is Rebecca’s “hairy-olas.”

Advance Review: @Syfy #Warehouse13, Season 3, Ep 301 “The New Guy” (Where for art thou, new guy?)

With Myka gone, the omnipresent and formidable Mrs. Frederic (CCH Pounder) must find a suitable new partner for Pete. Enter Steve Jinks (guest star Aaron Ashmore). Steve’s got a knack for knowing when people are lying. As a matter of fact, his ability is downright supernatural. Of course, that hasn’t been proven…yet. What I love about the show are the characters and the various eclectic objects they find. It’s funny, inventive, and charming.

Advance Review: #Eureka, Season 4.5, Ep. 411 "Liftoff" 3

I’m really digging this show! Eureka is a very fun show! The humor, the heart, the brains, and the people – it really feels like this place could actually exist. I mean, who says it doesn’t already? “Liftoff” – While Fargo pretends to be an astronaut in a rocket capsule, Zane inadvertently installs a device into the engine which launches them into space. With limited oxygen and no communication equipment on board, Fargo and Zane must do what they can while hoping their friends at GD figure out a way to bring them home safely.

Review: #FallingSkies, Season 1, Ep. 5 "Silent Kill" (Operation - Rescue Ben) 4

When I watch Falling Skies, I’ve noticed little things left behind that showcase the Americans’ naivety along with their patriotism. The JFK High School walls have painted murals of the country’s founding fathers, and on the school’s bulletin board there are magazine clippings of articles about the aliens coming to Earth. The show continues to intrigue me. While I get answers to some of my questions, it seems I have more questions after learning the answers to others. I suppose that’s a good thing, right?

Review: #WilfredFX , Season 1, Ep. 3 "Fear" (Transsexual Porn-Fest, Tampon Strings, and the Poop-Burglar) 5

We finally get to meet the “asshole” neighbor, Spencer (Ethan Suplee). After Wilfred admits he “definitely” (and intentionally) left Ryan’s wallet at the scene of their crime at Spencer’s, including stealing primo marijuana known as Purple Thunder Paranoia and defecating in Spencer’s boots, Ryan gets a tad bit nervous when Spencer comes banging on his door. Instead of owning up to the crime as Wilfred instructs, Ryan deflects the accusation by saying he too was burglarized and the thief “took a dump” on his Blu-Ray™ player.

Multiple Emmy® Winner James Spader Joins Cast of NBC’s 'The Office' as New CEO of Dunder Mifflin Sabre 7

“James will reprise his role as Robert California, this uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior,” said Paul Lieberstein, one of the series’ executive producers and a series regular. “He’ll have been hired over the summer as the new manager, but within hours, got himself promoted. Within days, he took over the company. James has an energy that is completely his own, and ‘The Office’ has no tools for dealing with this guy. We’re thrilled he’s joining our cast.”

Review: The Big C, Season 2, Ep 202 "Musical Chairs" 8

“Cupcakes for Cathy.” It’s the thought that counts right? Aside from the condescending tone of the students who’ve taken time to bake cupcakes to raise money for their beloved teacher, Cathy Jamison (Laura Linney), it seems like a nice gesture. So why does it feel so contrite? The positive of the whole situation is the return of smart-ass Andrea (Gabourey Sidibe). While the friendship she and Cathy have is somewhat unconventional, it’s also mutually beneficial.

Review: #FallingSkies, Season 1, Ep 4 "Grace" 9

While I really do like Falling Skies, I have many questions. Why are the aliens taking adolescent kids and not younger children or even adults? Is it their pubescent hormonal imbalance that perhaps allows the spinal harnesses to work more efficiently? Although I can do without some of the cheesy moments, I think they are somewhat realistic. In times of crisis we all have those Kodak™ moments like at the end of “Grace” when everyone revels in the simplicity of fresh baked bread – a farewell gift from Pope.

Review: #WilfredFX Wilfred, Season 1, Ep 2 "Trust" 10

Somehow Ryan gets saddled into taking Wilfred to the vet when Jenna complains about Wilfred’s horrible doggie breath. Things take a dark turn when Wilfred realizes Ryan lied about them going to the movies when they arrive at AMC (Animal Medical Center, not the theatre chain). By the way, Wilfred’s strange obsession with Damon is hysterical! Wilfrism – “Joy farts – they are amazing.”

Review: The Big C, Season 2, Ep 201 "Losing Patients" 11

“Bring it on!” is the mantra for The Big C’s season two campaign and they certainly bring something. Strange hallucinations and a headache that just won’t go away seem to plague Cathy (Laura Linney) throughout the season two premiere, “Losing Patients.” I was so excited for the premiere and I wasn’t disappointed at all! By the end of the first episode, I realized I had a smile etched on my face, stretching from ear to ear.

Review: #FallingSkies, Season 1, Ep 3 "Prisoner of War" 12

We already know the aliens arrived in their ships with seemingly advanced weaponry and artillery so why are they taking teenagers, harnessing them to collect scrap metal? Col. Porter brings some good news along with his chief medical advisor Dr. Michael Harris (guest star Steven Weber) who has a new method for removing the spinal harnesses. Meanwhile, Tom captures a live Skitter as his POW.

Advance Review: FX’s New Comedy – Wilfred – Season 1 Premiere Ep 1 “Happiness”

Advance Review: FX's New Comedy - Wilfred - Season 1 Premiere Ep 1 "Happiness" 14

What do you get when you combine Elijah Wood, Jason Gann, FX Network, and a TV-MA rating? A fantastically refreshing (and realistic) dark comedy sure to tickle your smart-ass funny bone to death! While everyone sees Wilfred as a lovable pet, Ryan sees a perverted, pot-smoking, nicotine infused, vulgar man with an Aussie accent in a dog suit.

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3 Finale/Series Finale Ep 312 “The Good Parts”

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3 Finale/Series Finale Ep 312 "The Good Parts" 15

With “The Good Parts” being the unknown series finale, it is a bittersweet moment for me. Over the last three seasons, we’ve watched Kate (Brie Larson) and Marshall (Keir Gilchrist) grow and mature, and Max (John Corbett) continuously standing by his wife while seemingly hanging by a thread. Obviously Max and Tara returning home instead of going to the mental facility is a bit of a shock, but they squelch any notion that Tara isn’t going to get help when they announce they are headed to Boston and that Bryce is…dead.

Movie Review: Green Lantern…He’s My New Hero!

Movie Review: Green Lantern...He's My New Hero! 16

Green Lantern is an exhilarating, intense, exuberant theatrical experience I won’t soon forget! The 3D imagery is fantastic! Reynolds captures the character of Hal Jordan, an arrogant and egotistical test pilot, with such charisma, engaging the audience with his version of the famed superhero. Reynolds’ off-beat humor is sprinkled lightly throughout the film but never overpowering it.

Advance Review: TNT’s New Sci-Fi Drama “Falling Skies” Season Premiere

Advance Review: TNT's New Sci-Fi Drama "Falling Skies" Season Premiere 17

I will tell you this show is worth watching. It’s compelling, thought-provoking, gripping, action-packed, and just good drama from the people who know drama. The writing is superb. Award winning executive producer Steven Spielberg, show creator/executive producer/writer Robert Rodat, and executive producer/writer Graham Yost (also creator/executive producer of FX’s hit drama “Justified”) give us a powerful new series I think will become the next TV addiction.

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3, Ep 311 “Crunchy Ice”

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3, Ep 311 "Crunchy Ice" 18

“Crunchy Ice” is one of my favorite episodes this season. Tara (Toni Collette) is still MIA but some of the alters– Buck, T, and Alice – make brief appearances before Bryce kills them off. Grandma Sandy points out the oddities of his wife’s behavior to Max, at the museum, “Your wife is humping that sculpture.” And I’m not sure how Bryce uses the urinal in the men’s room. A very confused Neil asks, “So, does your wife have a d*ck now?”

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3, Ep 310 “Train Wreck”

Review: United States of Tara, Season 3, Ep 310 "Train Wreck" 19

The darkly humorous side to all this is how the writers make light of grim situations. When Tara tells Max (John Corbett) about her new alter, he understandably wigs out but still tries to poke fun. “Who is she? Good/bad alter? Loves giving back massages and knows the stock market? No? No, we’re never gonna have one of those, are we?” But Max really loses it after finding out Bryce nearly killed Hattaras, resulting in the good doc’s decision to forego further contact with Tara.
