Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

TV/Comic Con: Warehouse 13 (not "giant hole in the ground 13") returns! 4

One of my favorite shows on television is Warehouse 13. I love the quirkiness, the humor, and the intriguing artifacts based on historical events or people. While at Comic-Con this year, I got to attend the panel in the infamous Ballroom 20.

During one of the 4.5 days at Comic-Con this year, I went to the Falling Skies press room on Friday, July 13 (of all days) and asked a few questions about season two and what’s ahead for our resilient 2nd Mass.

“We are anything but safe!” Review: Falling Skies “Homecoming”

"We are anything but safe!" Review: Falling Skies "Homecoming" 7

“Homecoming” means just that. Many former members of the 2nd Mass return, including a now de-harnessed Karen (Jessy Schram). But her arrival seems a bit out of the ordinary and I, like Maggie (Sarah S. Carter), don’t fall for her damsel-in-distress act for a minute! Unfortunately, Hal (Drew Roy) seems to have fallen quickly for Karen’s spun tale.

The Power of the Cuteness. Review: Wilfred, S2, Ep.202 - "Dignity" 8

Despite the lack of funny moments, there is a surprising twist at the end of “Dignity” that made my jaw drop! When Ryan barges into Jeremy’s office, he tells Jeremy he won’t have the proposal ready by the deadline and Jeremy will just need to deal with it. Though Ryan has poor observation skills, you can totally tell someone is under the desk by the way Jeremy is acting. But it’s WHO that person is that will shock you!

Skitter Bait, Glowing Spikes, and Choco Pies. Review: Falling Skies, "Young Bloods" 9

“Young Bloods” introduces us to more survivors, and we get a revealing look at the alien’s harnessing process. The 2nd Mass prepares to make its way to Charleston, SC after meeting a “Paul Revere” pilot named Avery (Camille Sullivan), who mentions a new established Congress. But is Charleston the answer for the 2nd Mass or will it divide them?

Ru-Ru-Ru-RY-Sharona! Review: Wilfred, S2, Ep 201 "Letting Go" 10

Wilfred is Back!! I have eagerly been anticipating the season two premiere and there are plenty of “WTF” and “WOW, did he just say that” moments to be had! There are so many moments where I laugh out loud and cringe a bit in “Letting Go.” The dialogue is witty and the chemistry between Wood and Gann is still fantastic and playful. And the comedy is as raunchy and uninhibited as ever…just the way I like it!

I feel "low grade discontented" Review: The Big C, Season 3 Finale "Fly Away" 11

“I think I’ve been low grade discontented for a long time.” ~ Cathy
Is this supposed to be a revelation? I think we all know Cathy (Laura Linney) has been “discontented” for a while now…actually maybe since season two. And now that she’s ‘lost at sea,’ it makes things go from bad to worse.

I Confess…I’m Displeased. Review: The Borgias, S2 Finale “The Confession”

I Confess...I'm Displeased. Review: The Borgias, S2 Finale "The Confession" 12

As finales go, I’m not happy with how things have ended. It was lackluster, and there wasn’t really a buildup to the bloody cliffhanger. Will the Pope survive? And now that Cesare has been released from his Cardinal vows, what will he do? I feel unsatisfied but, thankfully, still hungry for The Borgias.

They're BAAACK! Review: Falling Skies, Season 2 Two-Hour Premiere 13

Falling Skies roars back with just as much drama, angst, triumph, and heart as we saw in season one. It’s one of the best shows on television this summer, in my estimation. And this two-part premiere is just a taste of what’s in store for us this season.

Fun, Exciting, and Cutthroat! Advance Review: Suits, Season 2 Premiere "She Knows" 14

For a man who claims to “work better alone,” Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) sure is going to bat for his protégé Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). If you missed any of last season’s episodes, check out the clip here to catch up and get ready for season two! Suits is one of the best shows on the USA Network and television this summer! The dialogue is clever, the wit is sharp, and the actors execute their delivery with precision and flair.

Not a great penultimate episode. Review: The Borgias “World of Wonders”

Not a great penultimate episode. Review: The Borgias "World of Wonders" 15

“World of Wonders” is a bit chaotic and doesn’t seem to follow a particular line in regards to coherent story telling. We go from a debauched marriage proposal to burning witches at the stake to opium dens. Then there’s the back story of the Pope’s abstinence from temptations such as wine and his mistress for Lent that seems so misplaced.

Scuba, Secrets, and Rum...Welcome to Puerto Rico! Review: The Big C "Vaya Con Dios" 16

A trip to Puerto Rico for the family ends up dividing them more than ever…some even vanishing into the depths of the ocean. Paul is still mourning Joy’s death while Cathy has to answer for her secret life. Brava to Andrea for standing up to a demanding Paul. And Bravo to Paul for putting Cathy in her place.

Have your cake and eat it too… Review: The Borgias “Truth and Lies”

Have your cake and eat it too... Review: The Borgias "Truth and Lies" 17

What I loved about “Truth and Lies” were Cesare’s sinister demeanor and the fear in Juan’s eyes. The Pope seems a bit put off by Juan’s recent behavior and, for a brief moment, I hoped the Pope would push the blade into Juan’s throat but instead he just felt sorry for his son. Admittedly, without Juan, there’d be no antagonism in Cesare’s storyline. With only two episodes left, I hope the animosity between Cesare and Juan comes to a head.

Feeling Exposed and Stupid – Review: The Big C “Killjoy”

Feeling Exposed and Stupid - Review: The Big C "Killjoy" 18

I really enjoyed “Killjoy.” It brings back the darker edge to the humor like it once had, as well as some juicy backstabbing drama. Joy will do whatever it takes to get her ‘joy’ even if it ruins someone’s life. Paul is becoming more selfish, something I think he picked up from Cathy.

"...six-legged octopus of love and camaraderie." Review: The Big C "How Bazaar" 19

Cathy must deal with a hole in her wall (of her own making) and Adam’s obnoxious behavior while Paul is away on another speaking gig with Joy. Meanwhile Sean is branching out by dating a married couple. Later, Cathy learns some devastating news about the couple she’s adopting from, Dave and Maxine.

Movie Review: Virginia (Jennifer Connelly,Ed Harris) “I’m gonna make us peas and carrots tonight…from scratch.” 21

Living in a small town has its perks but it can also be a nightmare for a well-known sheriff trying to run for state senate. How Tipton (Ed Harris) and Virginia (Jennifer Connelly) have been able kept their affair secret for so long is beyond me but when Virginia finds out something is growing inside her, the truth becomes more twisted than you can imagine. Throw in a couple of botched robbery attempts, a kidnapping, young love, and a whole lot of heart and you have yourself a very entertaining film.

Review: The Borgias “Day of Ashes”

Review: The Borgias "Day of Ashes" 23

“Day of Ashes” sets up what is to come – a day of reckoning, but for whom? The Pope (Jeremy Irons) keeps his word to atone for his sins in light of the disaster caused by lightning, which resulted in numerous casualties and and a few fatalities. But, giving sacrament to the people hardly seems penance enough for the type of sins the Pope has committed.

Nipple Sucking, Procreation, and Movies - Review: The Big C "Life Rights" 24

Don’t let the title mislead you—“Life Rights” is not what you expect. It is delightfully entertaining and full of unabashed humor with an ample dose of sarcasm and a spoonful of disdain thrown in for good measure. Sean gets more than he bargained for when he catches Adam and his girlfriend Jesse in a compromising position.
