Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Otherworldly Door. Review: Haven — “The Lighthouse”

Otherworldly Door. Review: Haven — “The Lighthouse” 1

“The Lighthouse” picks up where “When the Bough Breaks” left off. There’s a disturbing glimmer in Audrey’s (Emily Rose) eyes as she places her blackened hand upon Duke’s (Eric Balfour) chest to re-trouble him. Maybe it’s just me, or maybe I’m greedy but I expected more from this season finale—with it being a two-parter, no less. Don’t get me wrong, the mind-boggling ending is an absolute doozy. Lives are at stake, and that makes me worried for what could happen in season five (which has yet to be formally confirmed). My four star rating is mainly based on Colin Ferguson’s brilliance in his portrayal of William, and for the strange events leading up to the final scenes.

Naughty List, Uncheck. Review: Grimm – “Twelve Days of Krampus” 2

Now “Twelve Days of Krampus” is what I call a helluva mid-season finale! You know part of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” that goes, “you better not cry, you better not pout?” For Krampus, it should go, “you better not steal anything or Krampus will beat you and eat you.” “Twelve Days of Krampus” isn’t for little ones under the age 10 because it may scare the eggnog out of them. This guy is no joke and I love it!

Still Feeling Cold. Review: Grimm – “Cold Blooded”

Still Feeling Cold. Review: Grimm – “Cold Blooded” 3

“Cold Blooded” in no way, shape, or form remotely gives way to anything in “Twelve Days of Krampus.” “Cold Blooded” deals with a type of reptilian Wesen known as “Gelumcaedus.” Sounds kind of harmless until you come across one of these fearsome creatures. With a grip like an alligator, you’re pretty much screwed if one of these things grabs ahold of your limbs. The sewers of Portland have more than twigs blocking them.

Conf Call: Grimm's David Giuntoli Talks About Season 3 and Clip from "Krampus" 4

Check out a clip from the upcoming mid-season finale “Twelve Days of Krampus.” As David says in a conference call, “We ruin Christmas for everybody and it’s gory and it’s wonderful.” Read more from David’s conference call and find out which is his favorite Wesen and what he thinks about his new Grimm abilities. And he also mentions going abroad quite a bit for the show.

Tempting Fate. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “The Golem” 5

Ichabod and Abbie enlist the help of their mutual friend Henry Parrish (guest star John Noble), aka “The Sin Eater,” to help bridge the gap between worlds. I’m sure Ichabod wasn’t expecting to be put near death to reach it.

Trouble Maker. Retrospective: Haven — “When the Bough Breaks” 7

Who is Audrey Parker (Emily Rose)? This question has been asked before but there’s hasn’t been many clues…until now. Even though “When the Bough Breaks” doesn’t tell us exactly who Audrey Parker is, we get a glimpse of the person she was when she was with William (Colin Ferguson).

Cries for Justice. Review: Grimm – “El Cucuy”

Cries for Justice. Review: Grimm – “El Cucuy” 10

“Duérmete niño, duérmete ya…Que viene el Coco y te comerá.” “Sleep child, sleep now…Or else the Boogeyman will come and eat you.”— Grimm
I’m convinced, now more than ever, parents from the old days were demented and sadistic. To tell a child they better go to sleep or they’ll be eaten by a mythical beast is just…wrong. As we dive into “El Cucuy,” we learn this mystical monster was called upon when evil lurked in small Latino villages and the women would cry out to “El Cucuy” to save them from the bad plaguing their “barrios.”

The Bonds of Friendship. Review: Dracula – “The Devil’s Waltz”

The Bonds of Friendship. Review: Dracula – “The Devil’s Waltz” 11

Secrets aren’t the only things Grayson/Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is hiding. “The Devil’s Waltz” is, in a word, spectacular. Along with the mystery surrounding Renfield’s (Nonso Anozie) disappearance, there is drama, torture, and revelations of the most arresting kind. Fair warning, if you are at all squeamish, suck it up because you don’t want to miss one minute of “The Devil’s Waltz.”

Rooted In the Past. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “Sanctuary”

Rooted In the Past. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “Sanctuary” 12

After last week’s amazing episode, “Necromancer,” my hopes were high for another thrilling installment of Sleepy Hollow but unfortunately, “Sanctuary” isn’t quite on par. That doesn’t mean it’s not without its own surprises because while “Sanctuary” is what I call a filler episode, it does present us with some intriguing secrets and links further connecting Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie).

Darkside Seekers. Review: Haven — “Shot in the Dark”

Darkside Seekers. Review: Haven — “Shot in the Dark” 13

The title of this episode is a bit of a controversy. Syfy’s Haven show site titles this episode “Shot in the Dark” while all the clips we’ve posted and IMDB have titled it “Monster’s Ball.” For argument’s sake, I’m sticking with “Monster’s Ball” given the hairy creature that’s featured in this week’s Haven, it goes without saying. But the heart hungry monster isn’t the only thing visiting the not-so sleepy town of Haven, ME. The Darkside Seekers have come and are digging up the dirt everyone is trying to sweep under the proverbial rug.

Death’s Tale of Woe. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “Necromancer”

Death’s Tale of Woe. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “Necromancer” 16

“This is a secret war; we must be cautious who we invite into it.” — Ichabod Crane
“Necromancer” is an absolutely amazing episode filled with drama and mystery, and wrought with intensity, especially during the interrogation scenes between Ichabod (Tom Mison) and the ruthless Headless Horseman (Jeremy Owens). There is a reason Sleepy Hollow has already been renewed so early on for a second season, and if you haven’t started watching, “Necromancer” is the perfect episode to start with.

Some Wishes Come True-ish. Review: Haven — “The Trouble with the Troubles”

Some Wishes Come True-ish. Review: Haven — “The Trouble with the Troubles” 17

“The Trouble with the Troubles” gives us so many shocking revelations, I literally clasped my hand to my mouth when the biggest reveal happened. I’m not even sure I am typing of my own volition because I’m in a state of disbelief. Not denial, just a state of ‘What the heck just happened!’ Haven continues to be fresh, inventive, and downright surprising.

The Unusual Suspects. Retrospective: Grimm – “One Night Stand”

The Unusual Suspects. Retrospective: Grimm – “One Night Stand” 18

“One Night Stand” will leave you feeling a bit parched and waterlogged all at the same time. “One Night Stand” is interesting in that it provides not only a new species of Wesen but also highlights Nick’s (David Giuntoli) newly enhanced Grimm powers. I feel, however, like it is a filler episode with a lackluster fight scene on the docks. I’m also getting an uneasy feeling about Nick’s Grimm prowess being heightened because something just isn’t right about it.

Seeing Isn’t Always Believing. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “The Midnight Ride”

Seeing Isn’t Always Believing. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “The Midnight Ride” 20

Although there is a saying, “Seeing is believing,” sometimes, you simply can’t believe what you’ve just witnessed with your own two eyes. Then again, many have blind faith in a God they’ve never seen. There are also those who believe in something many say doesn’t exist…like ghosts or the paranormal. I think Sleepy Hollow gives us many examples of all the above in “The Midnight Ride.”

Electrifying Developments. Review Haven — “William”

Electrifying Developments. Review Haven — “William” 21

Just when I think I have an idea of what’s happening on Haven, “William” blows my theories to smithereens. “William” is a fantastic, mind-blowing episode that will have your jaws aching from being dropped to the floor, and your eyes and ears straining to make sure you don’t miss a single electrifying moment! Beware, things are not as they seem.
