Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Conf Call: GRIMM's Reggie Lee Talks About All Things Wu. 4

In the conference call, Lee talks about how he did his homework for this upcoming episode, “Mommy Dearest,” in which a Filipino folklore comes to life. “So when I saw this script I actually went through it and marked it and logged about 100 hours of homework before I started shooting this particular episode.” 100 hours of homework! That’s dedication! He talks about his native Filipino folklore coming to life and talks a little about season one where Wu was literally a human garbage disposal eating couch cushions, carpet, quarters, and paper clips…but what was he really eating? What other character would Lee like to play on Grimm? What kind of Wesen would he want to be? Read more to find out…

Drugs, Lies, and Break Ups. Retrospective: Justified – “Whistle Past the Graveyard”

Drugs, Lies, and Break Ups. Retrospective: Justified – “Whistle Past the Graveyard” 5

“Whistle Past the Graveyard” should be an exciting episode considering Boyd (Walton Goggins) finally killed his last remaining blood relative. But sadly, it is not. This is a filler episode by every definition. There are some tiny nuggets of gold sprinkled throughout, but I’m not sure if I care anymore. Boyd only has his band of misfits to back him up but several new members may not be living up to their end of the deal. Can Boyd trust Daryl (Michael Rapaport), Danny (A.J. Buckley), and Dewey (Damon Herriman)? Not as far as he can throw them.

Hairy Situation. Retrospective: Grimm – “Revelation”

Hairy Situation. Retrospective: Grimm – “Revelation” 7

I don’t use words like “holy shit” very often but holy shit, is “Revelation” one exciting episode! Picking up where “The Wild Hunt” left off, Monroe’s (Silas Weir Mitchell) parents, Bart (guest star Chris Mulkey) and Alice (guest star Dee Wallace), gruffly meet Nick (David Giuntoli), who just happens to be a Grimm, a Wesen’s archenemy. Meanwhile, scalp cutting Woden (Matt Lasky), a “Wildesheer,” continues to wreak havoc on Portland.

Season of the Back Stab. Review: Justified – “Raw Deal”

Season of the Back Stab. Review: Justified – “Raw Deal” 8

Ask and you shall receive. At the end of “Kill the Messenger,” I mentioned in my recap that I wanted to see the Mexican heroin deal go down, and for Boyd (Walton Goggins) and Johnny (David Meunier) to square off. “Raw Deal” gives us that and so much more. As much as I like Boyd to have antagonists nipping at his heels, his cousin Johnny is really becoming more of a nuisance than formidable adversary.

Interestingly, the items are somewhat tame, ranging from cozy, fuzzy slippers to foot baths but the twist is the sales rep is a young man instead of a woman. Stirring the Pot. Retrospective: Justified – “Kill the Messenger”

Stirring the Pot. Retrospective: Justified – “Kill the Messenger” 16

“Kill the Messenger” starts off with a punch in the face, literally. And if you think there was double crossing going on in “Shot All To Hell,” you ain’t seen nothing yet. In this week’s installment, there is goading, betrayal, and a lot of bruises. “Kill the Messenger” is a bit more complex in the story arcs as we are introduced to several new characters. Some of the plots are moving forward while others are stewing on the back burner.

Evolution, Creation, or Both? Review: Questioning Darwin (A Documentary)

Evolution, Creation, or Both? Review: Questioning Darwin (A Documentary) 17

Whatever your faith or belief, Questioning Darwin, a vivid and intriguing 60 minute documentary, chronicles how Charles Darwin, a once devout Christian who wanted to be a clergyman, found his faith challenged when he traveled the world in 1831. Darwin devoted his life to learning more about the world and it’s correlation to religion through scientific studies, which is documented in his book The Origin of Species published in 1859. It also highlights both sides of the argument and you can see many pastors and clergy talk about the Book of Genesis and how God created the earth in six days.

Daddy Dearest. Review: The Tomorrow People – "Things Fall Apart" 19

I’m not sure I believe anything that falls from The Founder’s (Simon Merrells) lips, no matter how eloquently spoken. In this week’s installment of The Tomorrow People, “Things Fall Apart,” family is the resounding theme. Whether it be father and daughter or mother and son, or even uncle and nephew, family takes center stage in this intriguing and beguiling episode.

HBO Documentary – QUESTIONING DARWIN – Airs Feb. 10 Exclusively On HBO

Modern-day Creationists reject the idea that the Earth is billions of years old and that humans are descended from primates, believing instead in the literal interpretation of the Bible, which asserts that God made the world in six days and created Adam and Eve to populate the planet. Directed by Antony Thomas (HBO’s Peabody-winning “For Neda”), QUESTIONING DARWIN takes an in-depth look at the views of those who reject Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution while chronicling Darwin’s own journey as a young man whose beliefs were changed when he experienced the world first-hand.

Campaign of Harassment. Retrospective: Justified – “Shot All to Hell”

Campaign of Harassment. Retrospective: Justified – “Shot All to Hell” 21

I must begin with an apology. I have made a grievous error. I’m such an idiot. In last week’s “Over the Mountain,” I confidently said Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) didn’t have anything to do with Nicky Augustine’s (Mike O’Malley) death at the airport but I was wrong. I went back to that episode and although Raylan didn’t pull the trigger, he should have stopped the massacre; he is a U.S Marshal after all. This secret leads us to the events in “Shot All to Hell,” during which Raylan is put in a compromising position after learning why Art (Nick Searcy) went to Detroit to investigate Sammy Tonin’s (Max Perlich) death.
