Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Warehouse 13 – “A Faire to Remember” Recap. No Joking Around. 3

“A Faire to Remember” isn’t the best episode but has its moments of fun. As our agents split into various assignments, we find Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Jinks (Aaron Ashmore) investigating strange occurrences at a renaissance faire, while Myka (Joanne Kelly) helps Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) with her comatose sister Claire (guest star Chryssie Whitehead). Meanwhile, Artie (Saul Rubinek) tries to put dangerous artifacts back inside the “dark vault.”

Grimm – “Nobody Knows the Trubel I’ve Seen” Recap. New Grimm on the Block? 4

Is it just me or does this week’s Grimm feel…different? I mean that in a good way because it almost is different. There’s a new Grimm in town but she doesn’t quite know what she is…yet. Newcomer Jacqueline Toboni, who plays Theresa Rubel (aka Trubel/Trouble), is a fresh face, adding a new vitality to Grimm’s Portland charmingly weird beat. Making her screen debut in “Nobody Knows the Trubel I’ve Seen,” Toboni makes a lasting impression, not only with her beauty but with her ability to hold her own against seasoned actors.

Warehouse 13 – “Secret Services” Recap. Ice Cube Trays and Turkey Basters. 6

Myka wishes she could “poof” away too, especially when Pete (Eddie McClintock) offers to be her platonic sperm donor. What? He says they can do it without having sex…you know, with “ice cube trays and turkey basters,” but I think these two partners in crime may have deeper feelings for each other than they realize. Remember, Pete was willing to use artifacts to save Myka when he thought she had cancer.

The reach of the Verrat and the royal powers goes deep within the U.S. government, throwing a wrench into things for those protecting the child.

Years of Living Dangerously Series Premiere: “Dry Season” Recap – Global Warming Is Real? 12

Even if you don’t believe in climate change — even if you are religious and believe the weather is an act of God —Years of Living Dangerously provides enough information for you to choose from to do with it what you will. What I like about Years of Living Dangerously is it doesn’t preach to you; it doesn’t shout at you (figuratively) and it doesn’t berate you. The purpose of this docu-series intends to open the doors to communication, to learn, and understand what these scientists are discovering about our planet.

Justified Season 5 Finale Review – “Restitution” Ultimate Double Cross

Justified Season 5 Finale Review – “Restitution” Ultimate Double Cross 14

After a lot of bumps this season with some mediocre episodes, Justified pulls a genius move with its season finale, “Restitution.” The twists, turns, and cliffhanger will leave your jaw gaping while you scratch your head at the audacity of the Justified writers. How in the world does such a crazy, haphazard season go from ‘what the hell are they playing at,’ to ‘hot damn, I’m SO ready for season six?’

Grimm – “Synchronicity” Review: Not Out of the Woods Yet. 15

After a short break, Grimm returns with “Synchronicity,” picking up with Nick (David Giuntoli) pondering whether he should be Monroe’s (Silas Wier Mitchell) best man. What’s interesting is something Hank (Russell Hornsby) asks, “How do Wesen even know you’re a Grimm?” I’ve thought about that myself.

Are You In the Mood? Advance Review: Surviving Jack – “Pilot”

Are You In the Mood? Advance Review: Surviving Jack – “Pilot” 17

Surviving Jack is a comedy based on best-selling author Justin Halpern’s autobiographical book, “I Suck at Girls.” Set in 1990s Southern California, the show kind of reminds me of Shit My Dad Says but as a younger version. Meloni plays this buttoned-up doctor, Jack Dunlevy, who is taking over the household duty of looking after the kids, both teens at this point, while his beloved wife goes back to school to fulfill her dreams of becoming a lawyer. Well, let’s just say Jack doesn’t really have quite the finesse Joanne would in certain situations and what ensues is nothing short of awkward hilarity with some eyebrow raising, laugh out loud fun.

Wesen Ring Master. Recap: Grimm – “The Show Must Go On” 18

Can you smell the caramel corn, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and animal dung? Welcome to the “Carnival Metamorphosia” where Wesen aren’t afraid to show their true nature…or are they? The evil ring master, Mr. Hedig (guest star Carlo Rota), isn’t one to suffer fools and with a crack of his whip, elicits forced “woges” from each Wesen on stage for all to see. It’s not really “magic” or elaborate Chinese masks as the audience is led to believe.

The Whole Half. Review: Justified – “Weight”

The Whole Half. Review: Justified – “Weight” 20

Finally! After a few mediocre episodes, Justified finally pulls a rabbit out the old Stetson with “Weight.” This episode is jam-packed with twists, turns, and eye-popping surprises I didn’t see coming. From an old friend (or enemy, depending on who you are) wheeling into a family feud that’s been brewing since the beginning, “Weight” holds no punches in the violence department. Will these surprises be another anchor weighing Justified down or the invigoration it needs? Either way, I’m along for the ride.

HBO Presents – University of Sing Sing – Debuting March 31

In 1998, five former inmates founded the privately funded Hudson Link for Higher Education, which enables incarcerated men and women to earn a college diploma. Through Hudson Link’s partnership with Mercy College, Sing Sing prisoners are able to receive the same curriculum and diploma as on-campus students, with remarkable results: Hudson Link has a less than 2% recidivism rate among released graduates.

All Wrapped Up. Review: Grimm – “Once We Were Gods”

All Wrapped Up. Review: Grimm – “Once We Were Gods” 21

I’ve been fascinated with Egyptian legends and mummies since I was a little girl. One of my writing idols is Agatha Christie, who married an archeologist and lived in Egypt for some time. When I realized “Once We Were Gods” had an Egyptian theme, I was extremely excited. While there are a few areas that are lacking, overall, “Once We Were Gods” doesn’t disappoint. It’s chock full of mystery and intrigue, including an Anubis sarcophagus, new Wesen and folklore, and the forced betrayal I knew was going to happen.

Gumption and A-holes. Review: Justified – “Wrong Roads”

Gumption and A-holes. Review: Justified – “Wrong Roads” 23

“Wrong Roads” isn’t a filler episode like “Whistle Past the Graveyard,” but it isn’t a great episode either. While “Wrong Roads” gives us some closure on a storyline or two, it drags out other storylines, making me roll my eyes with exasperation. I see some double crosses coming across the Mexican border in the form of the Crowes. But one of them surprises me by finally getting the gumption to do something drastic to remedy his situation. Way to go, Dewey (Damon Herriman)!
