She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Christmastime is here; time for fun and time for stinky, hairy goblins to cheer. While Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) investigate strange home invasions by odd looking creatures, Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) and Josh (Lucas Near-Verbrugghe) look into finding out more about the attacks on Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner).

Haven — “Chosen” Review. Mother Knows Best?

Haven — “Chosen” Review. Mother Knows Best? 7

“Chosen” wraps up the first half of season five but still leaves many questions unanswered. I have a feeling the next 13 episodes will be Haven’s final ones. Writing this makes me sad. Season five of Haven has truly upped the ante and the writers took us on an epic adventure into a world of mystery, suspense, and doubt.

Castle – “Last Action Hero” Recap. All's Fair in Love and Action Movies. 8

Secret missions, shady pasts, aging actors looking for a comeback, and murder are the name of the game in this week’s Castle. Former Hollywood action movie star Lance Delorca (Morgan Benoit) is found murdered behind a movie theater; it’s up to Beckett (StanaKatic), Esposito (Jon Huertas), and Ryan (Seamus Dever) to figure out why. Of course, Castle (Nathan Fillion) wants in on this because he’s a huge fan of Delorca’s old “Hard Kill” movies.

Sleepy Hollow – “The Akeda” Recap. Fate Is Fickle, Indeed. 9

Words previously spoken are coming to fruition and my predictions about certain characters and their allegiances are beginning to take shape. As the impending apocalypse draws near, a life will be lost and loyalties are put to the ultimate test. Who will be left standing?

Grimm – “Highway of Tears” Recap. Wonder Grimm Powers, Activate!

Grimm – “Highway of Tears” Recap. Wonder Grimm Powers, Activate! 10

The tales of love and sacrifice are written in history. Both humans and Wesen alike participate. In “Highway of Tears,” Komodo dragon type Wesen sacrifice humans to satiate their goddess “Kali-ma.” Not a fair analogy, but it is what it is. People make sacrifices to save the ones they love. And with the phrase, ‘All is fair in love and war,’ sometimes sleeping with the enemy is the only way to get the upper hand.

Haven — “Chemistry” Recap. Toe the Line. 11

Castle – “Kill Switch” Recap. One Flu Over the Coo Coo’s Nest. 12

What would you do in the name of love? When Jared Stone (guest star Will Rothhar) willingly straps a bomb to his chest and hijacks a subway car to help free his girlfriend from federal prison, things go from bad to worse. Suffering from a severe case of asthma, he becomes increasingly sicker by the minute and could lose his grip on the trigger switch he’s holding. Thankfully, one of NYPD’s finest is on board but will Esposito (Jon Huertas) be able to take down this radical in time?

Sleepy Hollow – “Magnum Opus” Recap. More Than Meets the Eye.

Sleepy Hollow – “Magnum Opus” Recap. More Than Meets the Eye. 13

If last week’s “Mama” didn’t frighten you enough, perhaps being turned to stone will. Or maybe you are just waiting for a young Moloch (Grant Springate) to grow up and bring about the end of days? Well, that last one may be exactly what will happen before Sleepy Hollow’s second season goes on hiatus.

Grimm – “Cry Luison” Recap. Big Bad Wolf.

Grimm – “Cry Luison” Recap. Big Bad Wolf. 14

The title of this week’s installment of #Grimm is a play on the old phrase “cry wolf,” and aptly, “Cry Luison” deals with a wealthy heiress who claims to be taunted by a talking wolf, driving her closer and closer to the brink of a mental breakdown. Meanwhile, the potion Elizabeth (Louise Lomard) made to help Nick (David Giuntoli) has specific requirements, one of which Nick may not want to utilize. Plus, the news of Nick’s Grimm status has been accidentally circulated by our favorite ice beaver wesen Bud (guest star Danny Bruno), who comes calling on Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) to help save Nick’s life.

Haven — “Reflections” Recap. Steam. Lots and Lots of Steam!

Haven — “Reflections” Recap. Steam. Lots and Lots of Steam! 15

Things are getting very complex on #Haven and when people literally start falling apart, it takes the “troubles” to a whole new level of weird.
A strange trouble is causing physical manifestations affecting a person’s self-esteem – a woman in debt who feels like she can’t keep it together begins to literally fall to pieces; a young boy being bullied for being tall, weak, and lanky then becomes a strapping muscle bound jock. But his strength is short lived and he is nearly crushed to death by his dumbbell. If Audrey (Emily Rose) can’t figure out who is causing this trouble, someone else might die.

Castle – “Once Upon a Time in the West” Recap. Giddy Up, City Slickers! 17

A cross country murder sends our dynamic duo, Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and his new bride Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), out west to an Arizona dude ranch in search of answers to the age-old question, ‘whodunnit.’ Snakes, tiny bunks, and shared bathrooms won’t stop them from solving this mystery though.

Sleepy Hollow – “Mama” Recap. Creepy Nurses and a Mother’s Undying Love.

Sleepy Hollow – “Mama” Recap. Creepy Nurses and a Mother’s Undying Love. 18

Grab some tissues and your binky because “Mama” is not only a tear jerker, it is one heck of a frightening episode. The acting is top notch as the race to find out why patients at Tarrytown Psychiatric Hospital are killing themselves comes to a riveting and ghostly head. Sleepy Hollow ups the ante in “Mama.” The drama, fear factor, and emotions are kicked into high gear with just enough humor thrown in to soothe your aching nerves.

Grimm – “Dyin’ on a Prayer” Recap. Giant Clay Golems and Talking Walls

Grimm – “Dyin’ on a Prayer” Recap. Giant Clay Golems and Talking Walls 19

Grimm isn’t always about fighting wesens; sometimes, the battles are with other supernatural entities. Such is the case in “Dyin’ on a Prayer” when a Rabbi tries to help his family by summoning an ancient creature known as a “Golem.” Meanwhile, mama Hexenbiest, Elizabeth (Louise Lomard), continues to riddle out how Adalind (Claire Coffee) made the strange potion so she can help Nick (David Giuntoli) regain his Grimm powers.

A contagion is spreading through Haven, Maine like wildfire, causing people’s “troubles” to activate. This leads to a chain reaction of more cataclysmic events, including a chemical spill. The race to find out who the source of the contagion is comes to a shocking conclusion, leaving no one safe.

Castle – “The Time of Our Lives” Recap. Alternate Warped Reality. 21

Parallel universes and strange artifacts take center stage on this week’s Castle. “The Time of Our Lives” explores the variables if Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) had never met.

Sleepy Hollow – “Heartless” Recap. Heart and Soul Sucking Demon.

Sleepy Hollow – “Heartless” Recap. Heart and Soul Sucking Demon. 22

While “Heartless” delves into the macabre as Henry (John Noble) unleashes a dangerous “succubus,” or “Incordata – the heartless,” on unsuspecting victims, the underlying message is a variable mix dealing with the faith you should have in those you love and opening your heart to new possibilities, even during inopportune moments. But the succubus (guest star Caroline Ford) isn’t sucking the life force out of her victims to satiate her lustful needs; oh no, she’s on a mission. I wonder if they make baby bottles for demons.

Haven — “Morbidity” Recap. An Outbreak and Dancing Bears, Oh My!

Haven — “Morbidity” Recap. An Outbreak and Dancing Bears, Oh My! 23

“Morbidity” is a very intriguing episode with something very disturbing lying beneath the surface of the “dancing bear” trouble and illness plaguing Haven. “Morbidity” begins with a haunting dream sequence. Someone is running through the woods, bodies are lying lifeless on the ground, “Croatoan” is carved into a tree, and a “thinnie” is wide open. When Dave (John Dunsworth) wakes up in a panic, infected leg throbbing, he calls an old friend for help. Meanwhile, Dwight (Adam Copeland) tries his best to stall the CDC’s Dr. Charlotte Cross (guest star Laura Mennell) from discovering the “troubles.”

Grimm – “The Last Fight” Recap. And in This Corner… 24

“The Last Fight” doesn’t skimp on the Wesen bloodshed when we are introduced to some bull-headed (pun intended) fighters who don’t fight fair. Meanwhile, Captain Sean Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) mother Elizabeth (Louise Lombard) helps Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) retrace Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) steps in creating the potion used to strip Nick’s (David Giuntoli) Grimm powers. Plus, Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) is relentless in his search for the truth about Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni).
