Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

Their discovery is quite unnerving and explains much about the unique connection between Vanessa and Ethan. Penny Dreadful – “Glorious Horrors” Review. Sealed With a Kiss. 8

The romantic interludes from last week’s steamy “Above the Vaulted Sky” linger slightly as “Glorious Horrors” opens. From breakfast in bed to a bit of vanity, our beloved characters venture out for a seemingly “splendid” day only to have it marred with bad news and ill wishes. Meanwhile, danger is afoot in London and our friend John Clare (Rory Kinnear) finds himself in a bit of a predicament with his new employer.

The Whispers Series Premiere – “X Marks the Spot” Review. The Most Important Game.

The Whispers Series Premiere – “X Marks the Spot” Review. The Most Important Game. 11

If you’re looking for a good mystery to tuck you in on Monday nights, The Whispers is the one for you. If you have trouble with kids in scary movies and those weird talking toys, you may have some issues watching The Whispers. As the synopsis on the show’s website tells you, the series is about a so-called “imaginary friend” and only certain children can hear the entity known as “Drill.” But it’s much more complex and intriguing than the simple synopsis makes it out to be. As I watched the first three installments, I devoured them one right after the other. The story draws you in like a moth to a flame. A piece of the puzzle dangles in front of you waiting to be placed, but with each piece connected, a new, even odder piece arrives.

Penny Dreadful – “Above the Vaulted Sky” Review. Afraid of the Dark. 12

Pardon me while I take a very cold shower. The arousing ending to “Above the Vaulted Sky” almost makes you forget what happens at the beginning of the episode…almost. There be wicked deeds and “tenacious” activities going on in merry old London. As our adventurers, Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Vanessa (Eva Green), Ethan (Josh Hartnett), Sembene (Danny Sapani), Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), and Ferdinand Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) shore up Sir Malcolm’s residence to reinforce it against a future attack by the witches, using any and all means necessary, the vivaciously deceptive Evelyn Poole (Helen McCrory) toys with her dolls.

Interviews: TNT's The Last Ship Cast Members, Creators, and EPs Talk Season 2 17

In talking with the cast and creators/producers, the conversations were interesting, especially the interview with Rhona Mitra and John Pyper-Ferguson. Their characters are in a bit of a love conundrum and when the subject of their relationship popped up, I laughed out loud at what Mitra does. “Triplets!” You’ll have to watch the video for the full effect.

Penny Dreadful – “The Nightcomers” Review. Midnight Things. 20

Penny Dreadful goes beyond being a dark drama; it transcends this genre, blending it with a supernatural force compelling you to tune in each week to discover what happens to our intrepid troupe of adventurers.
